Man in hospital after hate attack
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is in excruciating pain after a brutal attack sent him to the hospital on Monday evening.
Dovid Hazan's triplets visited him in the hospital and had no idea what had really happened to their father. Perhaps the harsh reality underlying his hospital, stay too much for innocence to grasp. "I have no clue, I never saw them, I have no idea who they are, I had no words exchanged with them. They saw me and they came out of the blue," said Hazan.

I have no idea who the attackers were, but I have ZERO tolerance for attacks on humanity of any kind, unless one’s life is at stake or one’s family.

You're right, and I suspect if caught they'll be charged with some level of assault. I do think that, given high recidivism rates, motivation is a factor in sentencing, but the crime is the same.
What is the significance of wearing a "yamacha" (round cloth) versus wearing a "yarmulke" (round cap) on one's head?

I assume a Yarmulke. and that’s an easy way to tell if someone is Jewish
I doubt politics had anything to do with the crime.
There is a man at my shul who is supposed to open up a shooting range this Spring, specifically for women and children to learn to shoot.

I don’t think anyone here would disagree with that sentiment.
It sounded to me, however, like some sort of connection was being made between attacks on Jews and Jewish-Christian relations.
True Christians are the best friends Jews, and particularly Israelis, have in this country. This despite the fact that overwhelmingly, Jews continue to vote in a manner directly at odds with the so-called “Christian right”.
There is a possibility that this was an interrupted robbery. My husband was assaulted this past summer and when a car drove by the attackers fled. They never took anything from him either but were eager to cause him physical harm.
This is a nasty assault, but it is called a hate crime because the victim wasn’t a white, male, Christian. If it had been it would have been his fault for being out where he could be assaulted by citizens exercising their right to their normal behavior patterns.
I am sorry for the man who was hurt. I hope he recovers and I hope that the suspects are caught and punished. I simply can’t accept that a system that demands equal treatment under the law doesn’t support equality among victims.

There are a lot of people who hate Jews, Republicans and Americans. That’s why an arab threw shoes at Bush and why he now has so many fans around the world. They aren’t people with issues who just ‘happen’ to be muslim.
