If we take a reasoned look at McCain’s actions during the Lincoln Savings and loan debacle, it becomes clear what the man’s flaws were from near the start of his political career.
He was willing to sell his soul for campaign bucks. He was willing to ‘hang out’ with folks who were ideologically diametrically opposed to a Conservative’s point of view.
John stated that he knew better than to meet with banking regulators on behalf of Charles Keating. He says he really didn’t want to do it. He had decided to avoid doing it, but when Keating prevailed upon him, he did so anyway. John knew it was wrong. He did it anyway. That’s his take on it, and I don’t have any reason to view it differently. John sold out on principle to do something highly questionable. And he did it at the expense of his constituents.
John was a member of the Keating Five. He was the only Republican. The rest were miscreant Democrats. Scratch that. They were all five Democrats, it’s just that four of them had the stones to declare themselves to be what they actually were. John never even had that much backbone.
Today John still hangs out with leftists. He was willing to use Sarah Palin. He now thinks it’s funny to laugh at her expense. That’s the John McStain I’ve some to loathe.
John’s political career has made me question every aspect of his life. You don’t get to be what John McCain is today, without stepping on folks every step of the way. So I give John no slack. He simply hasn’t earned it.
Thank God I don’t have to look back and know I voted for the prick. I’ve held the same opinion of this snake for a long long time. There’s no way I will every vote for John McCain for any public office. He is unfit to serve.
You mark my word. As Obama’s term progresses, expect John McCain to defend him again and again. And expect to see him trash Republicans for objecting.
Palin is ten times the man he is. He served up Obama on a platter.
McCain is going to be the 60th. dem senator.
