In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.
On ABCs This Week, host George Stephanopoulos asked: The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.
"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?
McCain replied: I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.

Hey McCain, we (or rather some of us) held our noses and backed you against Obama. Others of us were willing to put up with you in order to get Palin into office. But you managed to screw the pooch and got your azz kicked, so we don’t have to even pretend to care about or respect what your RINO azz blathers on about.
In other words, McLame, please SIT THE #### DOWN, SHUT THE #### UP, and wait until your next election where you hopefully won’t even make it past the primaries, you LOSER.

“Im thinking were lucky this a-hole didnt get elected afterall.”
You know, I’m starting to think more and more along those lines myself. McCain would have been a disaster. Obama will be a worse disaster, but at least there won’t be a R-INO in office to be pinned with the blame!

This is the McCain the McCainiacs refused to acknowledge...
A man who has not dealt well with the stresses he has endured.
He has NO loyalty to conservatism, it’s always about HIM.
Clearly a mental case.

“There is no new information here. McCain has been a complete and utter dirtball for decades.”
Agree 100%. He’s sure played his POW experience for all it’s worth and then some, and it’s now past time for him to slink off into the sunset. But we won’t be so lucky.

“My friends”, this guy is an idiot. And there is nothing “surprising” that he’s trashing the RNC; he’s been turning on “his own” for years.

And the GOP scolds McCain by not electing him! What has happened to this once-great man? I really dont understand. A few things. McCain's not the only one infected, but he's particularly susceptible.
- United States Senate. The world's most exclusive club is exactly that - a club. Members learn to take care of one another, to the exclusion of party and citizenry.
- The beltway. Rush has talked about this one. Like Jason and the Sirens, people get sucked in. Sailors crashed their ships on the rocks trying to get to the Sirens, Congresscritters sell their soul for another appearance on "Meet the Press". McCain fell for this hook, line, and sinker.
- The roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowds [sic]. McCain's probably the type that sucks in adulation and accolades more than most.

Can anyone explain why we ran a Republican for the White House who hates Republicans?
Because it was his turn. Same reason we ran Bush I, the same reason we ran Dole, and to some lesser extent the reason we ran “W.”
We haven’t had the genuine article on the ticket since Reagan. Now THAT was a maverick choice.
I think this “turn” thing is meaningful to the point that we need to be arguing for 4 years that’s it’s Sarah’s turn now. We can say it’s time for a woman if it comes to that. Sarah Palin is far more conservative than all other options except Jindal, who is younger and makes a great heir apparent to her. “It’s Sarah’s turn.” Let’s say it over and over again until it’s taken as gospel. The moral high ground gets you about halfway there. After that, you need to play dirty.
