No. He is still the commander in chief, and has every right/responsibility to visit our warriors.

There are thousands of ways all the dollars could be better spent than for Dubya to take an ego lap around Baghdad.

Perhaps some see it as a farewell visit from their Commander-in-Chief to troops who are serving their country far away from their loved ones at Christmas.

Doesn’t everyone look a lot older after eight years.

Recent pictures of President Bush’s beautiful smile show that he’s content with himself and looking quite well.

I surely have a lot more gray hair than I did 8 years ago.

Merry Christmas, angcat!

I'm afraid we have a few Obama trolls amongst us.

Sadly, there are some really really angry people here.

I pray for them.

Good for the President. I think it’s great that he is saying farewell to the troops. I wish him well in his retirement.

You can’t have an economy or an America if Radical Islamic Terrorists are blowing up our kids in their School yards.

I for one am sure that this President Prioritized correctly.

The next Muslim President. I was just reading that article from the Asian Times. Frightening indeed. America has been fooled. I hope Michelle manages to control her hatred for American and also learn how to dress, she is complete low life worse than Hillary.

This is exactly the right thing for the President to do. During his two terms, I felt secure in accomplishing a great many things in my life, in the knowledge that an intelligent, knowledgeable, and caring President was at the helm. No retro-active taxes (as the Clintons did), no one witch-hunting me because I stood for policies they disagreed with, we had no "Waco's". I knew that criminals were being pursued. I knew he was no gun grabber. He wasn't going to take my job because I didn't claim a "minority" status. I knew he stood FOR policies which would encourage me to grow my assets. I knew that literacy was a major concern for this administration. The Bush years were a breakthrough of light amid the muggy cloud-storm of Chicago-style politics which surrounded the Clinton administration.

I saw conservatives and libertarians come out of the woodwork, safe in the knowledge they could speak their mind, knowing they wouldn't be prosecuted or "hunted" for their opinions and thoughts.

I'm going to miss this President.

Are you going to be able to attend one of the President’s functions in Iraq?! If so, I hope you get the opportunity to THANK THE PRESIDENT FOR HIS INCREDIBLE VISION AND COURAGE vis a vis Iraq and the broader War on Terrorism!!

For all of President Bush’s shortcomings and failure,:real and perceived by the right and the left, documented and analyzed on Free Republic and elsewher;: above all else this much is true:

President Bush’s leadership and execution of the war against islamic terrorists has been exceptional, mistakes and all, by any rational standard. It will be studied, analyzed, and copied by military professionals for years to come.

President Bush loves the troops and they love him. While all of us are going to pay a steep price for an Obama administration, the men and women of our magnificent Armed Forces are going to bear the greatest burden of all All will give sone, many more than neccessary will have to give all.

The hateful, hate filled people who are all too prevalent on any thread related to our President have really put a pall on this site.

I wish they could be sent to the same limbo that some Rudy supporters found themselves in last year.

And to think that some of them have the nerve to invoke the spirit of Christmas.

Appalling!

This hurts. Because it is true. I have two loved ones, yet active mil status, who will probably be mis-used and mis-directed by an administration which is clueless about so many things, that my loved ones may end up in another Somalia; horribly negotiated, horribly and misguidedly purposed by an Administration which has no pride in either country or military.

I pray our incoming president is a quick study. No matter what he said in the campaign, its a dangerous world and there are many who would like to see us knocked to our knees.

“an ego lap”? I think it is your own cyber ego-tripping which is showing.
