And Edward Kennedy has turned out to be an able and accomplished senator.
Where's the barf alert? Barone should stick to crunching numbers. When he veers into political commentary, we get cr@p like this piece.

Blagojevich simply refused or asked for something improper in return and Team Obama promptly broke off communications.Really? They broke off communications...promptly? So there were no more "communications" then after a pay to play for Jarrett was turned down. Is that correct?

Sheesh, usually Presidents wait until AFTER taking office to get embroiled in scandals. Congratulations America, you just elected the most corrupt administration since Grant's.

The Swimmer is able and accomplished - at passing truly vile legislation. He's evil, not stupid.

And Edward Kennedy has turned out to be an able and accomplished senator. I had to run to the lavatory after reading that.

Chicago Politics Stains Obama Must be the political immunity thing. BJ Clintoon's famous stain didn't hurt him either.

When people outside of Illinois try to analyze Illinois/Chicago politics they completely miss the mark.

I just saw an article on FNC website about paying the price to be in on some of inaugural events in DC. I think that it now seems "Chicago Pay to Play" has come to Washington.
Of course it has always been that way, but after this Blago scandal it really looks bad for the new POTUS's image.

Michael Barone is one of the sharpest observers/commentators ever.
He is also smart and professional enough not to let emotion trump rationality.

Edward Kennedy has turned out to be an able and accomplished senator. To (pretty closely) paraphrase PJ O'Rourke: To document the harm Ted Kennedy has done to this country would de-forest the continent.

“Team Obama promptly broke off communications only after Blago was arrested.”
And there is a valid suspicion that Fitzgerald pulled the plug on the investigation because the BO contacts were perilously close to making a deal with Blago that would have implicated BO. Fitz is only interested in indicting GOP higher-ups. It is much safer.

I guess he is saying that Obama was the only virgin in the Chicago whorehouse. Yeah right!

Does Barone forget the minimum $850 tribute the press was required to pay to cover boyHitler’s victory party or that doesn’t qualify as “pay to play”?
From Mrs. O’Leary’s cow to the America’s “First Dyke” with a social conscience, Jane Addams, Chicago has always been the turd in America’s punchbowl.
