NASA Administrator Mike Griffin is not cooperating with President-elect Barack Obama's transition team, is obstructing its efforts to get information and has told its leader that she is "not qualified" to judge his rocket program, the Orlando Sentinel has learned.
In a heated 40-minute conversation last week with Lori Garver, a former NASA associate administrator who heads the space transition team, a red-faced Griffin demanded to speak directly to Obama, according to four witnesses.
In addition, Griffin is scripting NASA employees and civilian contractors on what they can tell the transition team and has warned aerospace executives not to criticize the agency's moon program, sources said.
Griffin's resistance is part of a no-holds-barred effort to preserve the Constellation program, the delayed and over-budget moon rocket that is his signature project.

Ladwig is a jerk too. When invited to speak at an event at the prestigious Republican club in D.C., Ladwig tried to deface the large portrait of President Reagan hanging in the main dining area. My complaints to key Congressmen got him fired from his cushy Clinton appointment at NASA. He was lucky he got out of their alive.

Griffin is right, Garver isn’t qualified. I know from personal experience dealing with her years ago.

For those who have read it, and for those who need to read it or re-read it, this is straight out of “Atlas Shrugged”
I re-read the book in the past 2 weeks for the 7th or 8th time. I have lost count. With the musings of “The One” for the last 2 years, and his aggressive attitude of thinking he is already king ready to “rule” us, I thought it was time for a refresher course and I re-read the book.

You just know the “transition team” is just there to work some kind of angle.
True, they are Clinton second stringers. The real thugs won't show up until after "the One" is coronated.
Or if you're lazy, just wait till January 20th when the reality show based on it begins.
In the same vein as the last question, looking back at your three and a half decades in SF, what are you most proud of having gotten right? What do you feel you got most spectacularly wrong, by way of failure to predict or just plain being wrong?
We should not have assumed that a political space station could be built. We'd have most of what we predicted of the conquest of space, if we hadn't ignored parasite control. The wealth (as in flying cars) predicted by Heinlein and his followers (including myself) was another matter. It all went to welfare programs.
Vast numbers of people are microscopically better off for that, except that we all have less to aspire to.
Here is where the predictions failed: We didn't take Cargo Cult mentality into account [that being] "if somebody has something I don't, he must have stolen it."
They are sticking unqualified women into whatever dregs they leave over. So far Hillary is the only female to fill a prominent cabinet post. Where are the PUMA dopes now?
That's just for starters.
Look at the scandals underway even before this guy gets sworn in. Looks like the Clintonistas on a bad day ~ and actually, most of the top dogs ARE Clitonistas, and these are the people they hired on to detail their Escalades.
