Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, D-Los Angeles, said Monday that Gerald Parksy, a longtime Republican political figure, will chair the tax commission she and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger formed in late October.
The commission, according to the executive order Schwarzenegger signed, will release a report on how to modernize California's tax structure on April 15, 2009.
The commission has gotten off to a slow start, however.
On October 30, Schwarzenegger said, "Speaker Bass and the Senate President pro Tem and I will name 12 commission members in time for them to begin their work in November."
But as of yet no one has been officially named to the commission. Bass said the names of the 12 commissioners would be released this Thursday.
That will give the members just about five months to design the overhaul of the state's tax structure.
Bass noted that a number of the economic experts she had hope to tap were named by President-elect Barack Obama to his economic transition team.

Parsky? lol
12 commishs to be named Thursday, can hardly wait being as Obama has sucked up all the tax “talent”.
Why not Carole Migden? She’s much too valuable to waste in a Waste Board slot. ;-)
TAX COMMISSION — well, that tells you how the Taxifornia Liberal Wrecking Team plans to control their spending and taxing.
I am starting to pack and leave this liberal dung heap....

Today’s musing: Are these things connected?
Steve Schmidt says he’s gonna take a break from campaigns for a while
Arnold joins Dems and initiates new commission to attack California tax system, appointing Parsky as head schemer.
Fabian Nunez joins firm of Steve Schmidt
It sounds like they are getting ready for the 2009 propanda machine to sell next year’s ‘post-partisan’ fleecing of Californians. Maybe they can even recruit that ‘genius’ Dick Riordan to help in the destruction. Or Duf Sundheim. Will Paul Wachter be on the commission, too? Or one of Eli Broad’s lackeys?
What?
No Perata?
(yet)
Oh, that’s right , he may get indicted soon, well, we can still hope, right.? ;-)
Dang... I forgot the Don!
How about Willie Brown?
Any other candidates?
Perhaps Brent Wilkes? Oh, wait... I think he’s busy.
I drove through Santa Monica yesterday, in disgust at all of the commie housing they are building downtown. Moscow would be proud! (They might catch up with Gray Davis’s Playa Vista development—they just keep cramming more and more housing into every inch of swampland down there)
But then I passed an ugly monstrosity that was just built on Santa Monica Blvd—the SMC Performing Arts Center (The Broad Stage and Edye Second Space)—a monument to Eli Broad courtesy of Santa Monica College (built with school bonds—along with funds from the city, Broad, and others).

A nice little venue for lefty gatherings, no doubt.
Co-MU-nity gatherings.
Gots to sen joo out fer re-edgecashun.
I always thought they were Commie-Unity Gatherings. ;-)
As to edgecashun, the public schools obviously failed with me. I have no tolerance for their 'teachings' (brainwashing).
I'll never, not ever, believe they are not. And what an impressive list of useless political hacks.
Arnold the Euro socialist has now memorialized his place in California history as absolutely the worst governor we have ever had the misfortune to put in office. A complete and total loser.
Lovely...
Lemme guess... That's the one that goes around artificially inseminating momma pandas, right???
(don't look for me! I just slipped out the back door!!!)(ducking)
Aren'tchew referring to corprule punishment??? (groan)
Parsky ? Leave it to the Democrats to resurrect undead ultra-RINO zombies to aide their cause.
The 2009 propaganda machine I was musing about is one that will begin laying the groundwork for the demise of Prop 13, or some equivalently destructive initiative. Just as Steve Schmidt sold us "infrastructure" bonds to build new bike lanes and supplement state spending, the time has come for flooding the populace with stories about how only new-taxes, or a major revision to the crrent California tax structure, will get us out of the mess we are in. It's not enough to have the libs and MSM telling us that for years--now it will be an all out campaign to reach every man, woman, and child and ensure that no one believes that cutting state spending is a viable solution and that we simply must do something. That "something" will, of course, will have "bipartisanship" support.
That's what my crystal ball is tellin' me, anyway.
more Bush/Rove garbage.
Arnie and Parsky should be run out of the state!!!
I din't even know you were blond! You must be one of those broke the mold and became a brilliant blond!!! (ever seen blond mold?)
Am I only one to think this was a fishing thread?
