Shocked I'm not.
The Fitz had his eyes set on the Attorney General's Office. The odds of that happening if he had started passing subpoenas around before the election were obviously ZERO. Now that it turns out that those odds are ZERO anyway then why not go ahead and get on with working on the main goal that Fitz has set for himself: Getting in the papers and on TeeVee. The law and Fitz have never met. He is simply a politician through and through. He proved that with his totally unwarranted attack on the Bush Administration.
I too wish this had come down earlier but the US Attorney’s Office has a policy of not going public with political defendant cases 60 days before elections. Fitz did the same with the Libby case as I recall...
