I can’t understand why some on this site really seem to want this issue to go away. I know they all just say they are being realistic, but to me it seems like more than that. Even if it were at total fantasy, they don’t even appear to like the thought of it.
My own theory is that some people expect their positions to be validated by the Establishment, which is to say the MSM, politicians (if only some of them), or the likes of Savage, Limbo, etc. Unless they receive this validation, they feel outside of the circle of normalcy (let’s call it.) Let’s face it, such posture is nothing but conformism.
I think it's that some people find the never-ending frustration too emotionally taxing. Eventually, they find a way of telling themselves that they need to "let it go" and move on. In a sense, you and I could do that, but we'd have to view what Obama *may* have done (after all, we don't know what the facts are, right?) as perhaps a battle we have actually lost and focus on the larger WAR itself. You and I may go that route too at some point. I think folks may feel insecure in that decision and thus lash out at others because they made their decision for the sole purpose of reducing their stress. When you and I and others continue to talk about it, they lose the benefit entirely of having admitted "defeat" in this one battle. They resent us and hate us, in a way, because we are "spoiling" their "peace."
The reason I am uncomfortable with situation is that many, many on here do not seem to have a strong, coherent argument. I have read some well done analysis of the legal cases, but beyond that, most posts degenerate into a mishmash of speculation and innuendo. Any facts which do not fit into the ineligibility scenario are dismissed or explained away as fraud or forgery.
It seems the bottom line is “why won’t he release the vault copy”. Indeed. But all that gives us is suspicion, not proof. Frustrating, yes, but not PROOF. I would just like to see a bit more intellectual rigor.
I feel confidant that O was born in Hawaii, based on the birth announcements in the papers. I am trying to explore the issues beyond that to see if there is anything else to disqualify him. Will wait with baited breath for Friday.
