My own theory is that some people expect their positions to be validated by the Establishment, which is to say the MSM, politicians (if only some of them), or the likes of Savage, Limbo, etc. Unless they receive this validation, they feel outside of the circle of normalcy (let’s call it.) Let’s face it, such posture is nothing but conformism.

Exactly! I have run into that time and time again. If someone doesn't tell them what they should believe they cannot seem to go there. Asking them to logically consider an idea outside the mainstream is like asking asking them to commit heresy.

Excellent analysis regarding the desire for some to want this to go away. If the “smart people” don’t tell them it’s a big deal, it’s no big deal.

That’s a problem here now, people have lost the ability to think for themselves. And when they encounter someone who does, it’s easy to fall into mocking them.
