Just felt this one way down here by Long Beach.....
Hey, I grew up in the Wheat Fields,...this stuff bothers me!
I worked for a Quaker ...he had a couple of thousand acres and his own grain elevator....small one.
But he could make the ground shake when he got MAD!
Of course, I live in the shadow of the Seven Oaks Dam which sits right on the San Andreas Fault.
I’m actually on a earthquake yahoo group, and yes, they are saying that it is probably in the same are as the Hector Mine.
Downgraded now to 5.1....

That was a big quake....knocked the rails askew under an Amtrak train that was rolling thru the area that night....and did some serious damage to a bridge over the I-40 near Ludlow.
I had a bed roll in the barn....LOL!

Magnitude 8 and Greater Earthquakes Since 1900
With a magnitude of between 9.1 and 9.3, it is the second largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. This earthquake had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes. It caused the entire planet to vibrate as much as 1 cm (0.5 inches)[4] and triggered other earthquakes as far away as Alaska.[5]
