Dec. 5, 2008 | Barack Obama can't be president: He wasn't really born in Hawaii, and the certification of live birth his campaign released is a forgery. He was born in Kenya. Or maybe Indonesia. Or wait, maybe he was born in Hawaii -- but that doesn't matter, since he was also a British citizen at birth because of his father, and you can't be a "natural-born citizen" in that case. (But then, maybe his "father" wasn't really his father; maybe his real dad was an obscure Communist poet. Or Malcolm X.)
You might think these rumors would have died off after Obama produced proof in June that he was, in fact, born in Hawaii to an American citizen, his mother Ann, or after Hawaiian state officials confirmed in October that he was born there. You might think the rumors would have died off after was elected by a comfortable margin. Instead, they've intensified. There have been paid advertisements in the Chicago Tribune questioning the president-elect's birth certificate and eligibility, and one group is raising money to run a similar ad on television. The right-wing Web site WorldNetDaily has been reporting on the issue almost non-stop. Numerous plaintiffs have filed lawsuits in various states. And Friday, the Supreme Court's nine justices will decide whether they want to hear one of those suits, which also contends that John McCain, born in the former Panama Canal Zone, does not meet the Constitution's requirements to hold the presidency.
The people hoping this is a sign the court will agree with them and stop Obama from becoming president are almost certain to be let down. The fact that the case has gone to conference doesn't mean anything about its merits -- the court will also be

Regardless of what the SCOTUS does this needs to be addressed by CONGRESS.
In then end, Obama will say that if previous 42 men who have been president did not produce their birth certificate, that he will not produce his.
So true.
Hey Alex get a clue. The Hawaiian Officials NEVER stated he was born there!
Cowardice drives the naysayers plain and simple. Fear of what will happen if something is done.
Isn’t withholding the valid birth certificate a cover-up which, in turn, amounts to obstruction of justice because it perpetuates a fraud?
Every single time they toss out this false canard.
Its not about that. Just show the birth certificate, and answer two questions: what nationality to he claim when he applied to college, and what passport did he travel on when he went to Pakistan.
Its easy. Just do it so we can all go about our business.
I, too, am SO tired of that misinformation being repeated in every story written on this.
You might think that proof would consist of more than a badly forged digital image.
And state officials didn't confirm that he was born there. They can't say what they have due to privacy issues.
The longer this goes on, the more and more it is becoming apparent that Obama either isn't qualified constitutionally to be President or Obama has lied horribly about some aspect of his past.
It is obviously very important to their cause to repeat this misinformation over and over again.
Someone should offer Slate a million dollars to provide such a quote from Hawaiian officials saying he was born there. I am trying so hard to stay off this birth certificate issue...but these constant lies are pulling me in.
Who has ever said that he may have been born in Indonesia?
People have to make up "facts" when the real ones don't look good for them.
Since they are so DAMN SURE that the marxist was a natty-born baby, they should be fully confident nothing will happen except to make us so called conspiracy nuts look like fools. Seems to me they would like that to happen.....so why aren’t they pushing for Obama to release his vault copy?
How much you wanna bet that Long form certificate has an ADDRESS listed on it, and only one illegible witness signature?
LOL
Funny how there have been numerous such articles in the lefty media in the last few days. Axelrod’s fax machine must be working again.
