If there was a marriage, it was an illegal one. Obama's dad was married to another woman in Kenya at the time, so if he married Ann Dunham, he would have been committing bigamy, which is a crime in the U.S.
There are rumours that Obama Sr. and Ann went to Kenya to get married, because having two wives at the same time was legal there.
I have wondered if his parents were actually married or if that was the socially correct story to put out at the time. Or maybe she told her parents she was married, when she actually wasn’t.
