John Tng of Five Doves is NO bible scholar...Don’t be deceived by this site.

Nothing wrong with being skeptical, however the data he has provided in this article is factual, is based on Scripture, and past theories not withstanding, is worth consideration IMHO.

Actually, this is the first time John Tng has advanced a theory regarding the identity of the Antichrist, in fact he limits his own posts, when was the last time he posted such a theory, to the best of your recollection? I've not seen any.

What makes anyone think you can figure this out in ENGLISH.

Contrary to what most of us would like to believe, the United States is not the center of God's universe.

Daniel 8:1

“In the third year of the reign of king Baltasar, a vision appeared to me. I, Daniel, after what I had seen in the beginning, {8:2} Saw in my vision when I was in the castle of Susa, which is in the province of Elam: and I saw in the vision that I was over the gate of Ulai. {8:3} And I lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold a ram stood before the water, having two high horns, and one higher than the other, and growing up. Afterward {8:4} I saw the ram pushing with his horns against the west, and against the north, and against the south: and no beasts could withstand him, nor be delivered out of his hand: and he did according to his own will, and became great.”

8:19 “And he said to me: I will shew thee what things are to come to pass in the end of the malediction: for the time hath its end. {8:20} The ram, which thou sawest with horns, is the king of the Medes and Persians.

The odds of it happening really aren’t that high. The odds of any particular combination of three turning up are one in one thousand. When you have multiple drawings per day, like Illinois, which has noon and evening pick 3. If the pick 3 happened twice per week (Wednesday and Saturday), twice each day, over a year, the odds are only 208/1000 that you will have the numbers 666 picked. That they are picked four times is 52/1000 odds, well within a reasonable statistical model for a year’s period. It is then just a matter of matching events to the dates they are drawn.

> I too, originally thought that the Pope indeed was the Antichrist, and I read Alexander Hislop’s “The Two Babylons” cover to cover

(grin!) I’ve got Hislop’s book in my library, right next to John Thomas’ “Eureka: an Exposition of the Apocalypse” in six volumes. This sets out the Continuous Historical application of Revelation rather well. However, it is a tad dated, as it was originally written around the time of the American Civil War — still, a good read.

I think it makes perfect sense to watch out for these things, and perhaps even to speculate: after all, we are told to.

I hope all is well with you, too!

I’ll do you one better on 85 as well. If the odds of 666 being drawn four times in one year in Illinois is 52/1000, I didn’t really consider that we should look at the whole country. I believe somehwere around 23 States have pick three lottos, but for the sake of round numbers, I’ll go with 20. The statistics of 666 being picked four times in the country over a year period are 1040/1000.

“I grew up practicing one faith, but converted to Christianity because it was widely accepted in my country.

But, I practiced non-traditional beliefs and did not follow mainstream Christianity. “

What religion was hitler before “converting”?

I thought that the real number of the beast was 663 and has been incorrectly written for generations. The oldest fragments of Rev. show it as 663, which equates to Caligula Caesar.

I’ve never read ‘Eureka’, I’ll have to hunt that down!

Well I’m taking a meal break here, I’ll let the comics and skeptics enjoy this thread in my absence, hey - it was a boring news day anyhow. LOL

Later FRiend!

A tiresome rehash of numerology, right up there with examining the entrails of animals and tea leaves.

God’s attitude toward those seekers of omens and diviners is well expressed at Deut. 18:10-13, numerology being one of those practices,

Why would Christians want to involve themselves in such practices?

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, wasn’t Ronald Wilson Reagan this as well?">

Not only do the letter-counts of his name add up to 6-6-6, but 666 was the address of home in Bel Air. (He and Nancy petitioned the post office to change it, IIRC.)

Actually, Hitler converted(sic) to the occult, not converted to Catholicism. He used Catholicism for his own means but had a famous quote about looking forward to throwing off the Catholic church and embracing ‘ancient world’s gods’.

Well, I guess that lets Reagan off the hook.

The oldest fragments of Rev. show it as 663, which equates to Caligula Caesar.

Didn't 666, using the same pattern, equate to Nero Caesar, which, ironically, was the Caesar who ordered the burning of Israel and the annihilation of the Jews, up to the final battle at Masada over the Megeddo valley (Armageddon)
