Sad to say but true! This election I thought the church leaders were not as vocal as in the past and I think that’s why Catholics did not worry about it as much.
Bellwether Catholics Sided with Obama - (27 PERCENT) of the U.S. electorate.
For many, experts say, economy trumped abortion concerns.

“On his way to a decisive victory, Barack Obama won a majority of the nation’s Catholic voters, a closely watched swing group that has sided with the winner in nine of the last 10 presidential elections. He won despite the preaching of some conservative bishops that it would be wrong to vote for a candidate who supports abortion rights, as Obama does, and after a years-long effort by Democrats to close their party’s persistent “God gap” with the Republicans among religious voters.
Fifty-four percent of Catholics voted for Obama, to 45 percent for GOP nominee John McCain, according to surveys of voters as they left their polling places. Catholics made up 27 percent of the U.S. electorate.
Pennsylvania was an anomaly, with McCain carrying Catholics 52 percent to 48 percent. A third of the state’s voters were Catholic, according to the exit polls.
I’m Catholic and the majority of Catholic women I know are Pro Abortion and lots of Catholics I know are socially liberal.
Guess you didn’t see this list

And then it turned to 100
Last time I saw it the list included over 130 bishops — it’s a start. Catholics were elated to see these bishops with guts. And we all know that Pope Benedict is watching to replace those who did not speak out with ones that will.

**Fifty-four percent of Catholics voted for Obama**
This number was proved to be in error. Should have been 48 percent. I agree that 48 percent, nevertheless, is too much.
I think many Catholics fell into the same trap that many Protestants did — they wanted to vote for the first black President.
Let’s pray and hope that Obamanation is not qualified and the proof comes in by the time the Electoral College speaks.
