Go to nrahq.org and look for a local Women on Target or Refuse to be a Victim representative. They can help you find the right gun and help you learn how to use it.

There is generally no cost - or very little cost - for these programs. The NRA Foundation's Friends of NRA funds both programs through grants that cover the cost of guns and ammo.

You can also go to nrafoundation.org/friends to see the reps in your state.
