To: jithendra
Yeah.
They talk about integration here in Europe.
Hindus and muslims have been living together in India for more than 800 years?
So, I guess we have to be somewhat patient.

Sounds like someone is trying to start a war but with whom?

Sometimes us Americans forget that much of the rest of the world doesn't have the same sense of individualism that we have. And even ours is going away with the rising socialism in our country...
Good for you for thinking about preparations.

OK, leaving the snide remarks aside...
I was there on my way to Tibet. At that time Pakistan was probably one of the more western oriented and safe (relatively speaking) places in a very unsafe part of the world.
Pakistan has probably changed a lot since I passed through there. The further north we came the more orthodox (today we should say radical) Islam was practiced. But we were treated very kindly by the locals. (Except that one of local Mukhtars wanted to buy one of our female companions - her rather wide girth made her into a Pakistani Marilyn Monroe. That did cause somewhat of a problem.)
Islambad/Rawalpindi was much more secularized. I remember the first day we visited the large mosque there. We did not dare to show our cameras, not to offend the locals. But we should not have bothered. They came up to us and wanted to be photographed together with us!
But, but..I have pictures (taken stealthily) of Afghans in black turbans at the local airport. The name Taliban was not known at the time, but that’s probably what they were. They were the only group we met who were definitely anti-western.

I remember in the 90’s... I think...
We had our first random terror victim. The first and only Norwegian who was beheaded as far as I know in modern times.
Some backpacker traveling through Kashmir.

I had a GF who spent much of her childhood in India and Pakistan.
She described the difference as:
In Pakistan if a brick falls out of a wall, they shrug and say it's God's will.
In India, if a brick falls out of a wall. they shrug and say it's God's will. BUT THEY PUT THE BRICK BACK!

I don’t know.
There is some that believe these jihadists, if they are connected with the Pashtun agenda.. That they want a break up of Pakistan. I guess hightened tension with India could help their goal. Perhaps even war?

Including short range nuclear detonations lobbed from a rusty old tanker into our major cities. The crews would be paid not to expect to return home.

Communism demands loyalty to the state, Islam
is the State (Sharia law).
I would be more worried about Obama's 'security force' being a terrorist organization than actually confronting Islamic terrorists.

We were very unhappy when we heard that a man from our locality was killed in the attacks . He is survived by his young daughter and wife . Yes I Went to the beach and the restaurant's on the beach road were deserted . I'm sorry to learn about your neighbor- this is a nightmare for so many. Glad you had a chance to get out and go to the beach- nothing clears the mind like the ocean air ..
