Bah Humbug.
The event is Christmas, period.
Don’t you think it should be more like SaveSanta?
Amen, Brother!
I and another neighbor are on the verge of a crusade to change the neighborhood’s “holiday party” back to a CHRISTMAS PARTY. I’m fed up to my eyeballs with political correctness in general, especially the kind that worries about someone being “offended” by the mention of Jesus Christ, and I just won’t play the games anymore.

Merry Christmas! Keep Christ in Christmas.
You would be amazed at how many customers thank me for keeping Christmas alive at our store.
As a faithful Christian, I find it hilarious that people are upset that RETAIL ads don’t say CHRISTMAS in them! If the holiday were about CHRIST you wouldn’t care so much about what STORES are doing. It’s the stores and the promise of presents that has LED to this so-called problem.
No matter what the ads or stores say, the commercialization of what I think is the most important day of the year is the problem, not what word a person uses to describe it. I will buy my kids gifts just about any time of year. I love to surprise my family with trinkets and toys whenever I can. But Christmas is the one day of the year when my family focuses on what it’s really about. The birth of our saviour can not be appropriately celebrated with Tonka Trucks and Tinker Toys. And getting a gift on Christmas is hardly a surprise.
Where are the real christians?
Gotta agree. And forget about political correctness. Aren’t we all here for freedom and less intrusion from outside forces into our lives? So why are we advocating to force strangers to say ‘Merry Christmas?” I’m in my 50’s and well remember as a child seeing signs, ads and wrapping presents with gift tags that were the range from “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Holidays”, and even ‘Season’s Greetings.”
It seems to me that the secular people want all the great things that come with Christmas, the happiness, family gatherings, etc. but don’t want it to be Christmas. So I think they should start their own holiday instead of trying to steal ours and they can call it whatever they want.
We are, after all, celebrating the birth of Christ.
Agreed.
“What’s to-day, my fine fellow?” said Scrooge.
“To-day?” replied the boy. “Why, Christmas Day.”
“It’s Christmas Day!” said Scrooge to himself. “I haven’t missed it. The Spirits have done it all in one night. They can do anything they like. Of course they can. Of course they can. Hallo, my fine fellow!”
“Hallo!” returned the boy.
I never have understood why simply sticking up for saying Merry Christmas equates to forcing others to say it.
It's as ridiculous as saying 'Under God' in the pledge is forcing my religious views on Michael Newdow.
I don't think this is the case at all. The real issue is standing up to godless liberal political correctness...be it Christmas or any time of the year.
With this line of thinking it won't be long before rejecting the homosexual lifestyle is considered a hate crime.
Merry Christams! Welcome to freerepublic! Merry Christams!

Out here fighting to keep Christ in Christmas.
The secularists are trying to do away with the term "Merry Christmas" in order to take Christ out of Christmas. They've been at it for a few years now. I wrote "DID YOU FORGET WHY THERE IS A CHRISTMAS" four years ago. Wrote "ACLU Christmas" three years ago. That's how long I've been fighting to keep Christ in Christmas. And the battle had been going on for a while before I jumped in.
If you're interested I made videos for my songs and put them up on you tube yesterday.
I think that holiday is called Festivus.
