This "early voting" crap is what cost us the election, I am convinced about that.
And I'm just going to say it, most state and county offices are almost fully staffed with...yes...obama supporters. These are the people who are in charge of receiving, storing, and registering these votes for the final talley.
There is not secure way of knowing who handled these votes; no way of knowing if any (GOP) votes were thrown out, or dead democrats votes were added.
Election day is election day...and that's it. Absentees only for military personnel overseas. No dual (state) citizenships or vacation home voters either.
We should go and do like we had Iraq do, the purple finger voter verification. If your finger is already purple, you don't get to vote again...period.

“People who travel for work should be included in the absentee voting.”
Nope.
I know I will get slammed for this but...nope.
Travel some other day. Business can get into the habit of not scheduling things on election day, the same way they don’t on Christmas.
Flame away.

I don’t care if it was a 100% pure conservative,
election day as in one day period.

Sorry it doesn’t work that way in the real world. You may live in an ivory tower where you can pick and choose when you travel for work but the vast majority of business travelers don’t. Perhaps you would like to outlaw voting for truckdrivers but I don’t.

Should absentee ballots be eliminated, in that case? No, Absentee ballots should be cast and mailed on election day.

Regarding military absentee ballots I believe that it should be replaced by Elections Day voting in the military base where the troops are residing overseas. The votes should be counted on the same day like all other votes. The reults of the military votes counted in the military bases overseas should be sent to the appropriate election board precinct where the US military resides back in the US.
This will eliminate any excuse by liberals who would say if you allow the military absentee ballots then you should allow it for everyone else including early ballots.

It does work that way in the real world. Election DAY.
Do you reschedule your wedding to go on a business trip?
Your mother’s funeral?
Voting is important.
Set your priorities.

"I am against early voting because it is unconstitutional. If you work for the DOD as a civilian then you can vote in a US military base overseas if there is one the country where you are or vote in the US embassy or diplomatic mission in that country. Your vote should be on the same day as elections day in the US" Please show where in the constitution it says early voting isn't allowed and why didn't our side complain about it during Bush's two elections when Americans voted early. As for DoD civilians, I was speaking of contractors like General Dynamics, Lockheed and Boeing who do contract work worldwide for the DoD. While they don't hold an official position like a DoD Civilian they would not be allowed to vote if their duties took them out of state on election day.

Wouldn't it just be easier to run an appealing small government conservative that can sell the message? It's not that hard.
Big government Republicans lose. They lose because fans of big government are voting Democrat.
The five or ten states that vote first like to pick big government Republicans, apparently. So Republicans need a national primary day so that those five or ten states won't be able to pick the candidate. If you're looking to solve the problem, look at the primary system.
Trying to get less total votes is not a winning strategy.

Yes, absentee ballots should only be permitted to our military serving overseas. Why only overseas? I was stationed in FL, WA, CA and VA during my military career and was not a resident of any of those states, did not want to be a resident of any of those states, nor was I required to be a resident of them as long as I was there by orders of the Navy. I voted by absentee ballot in my home state the entire time I was in except for the occasional election that matched with my being home on leave.

Agree 100%. We can even allow the US military to vote on elections day in their military ballots overseas, count their votes in the same day at these military bases and then send the results that same day to the precinct where the troops live back in the US.

It's not "early voting" that is the problem. It's multiple votes by individuals that travel from precinct to precinct while not having to prove that they are who they say that they are. It's lack of voter ID, along with election workers stuffing the ballot box before and after hours.
We definitely need a means to ensure that only eligible people vote and only one time.

We can vote early in Tennessee and it makes it really nice to get it over and not have to stand in long lines. It took all of 5 minutes, total. Nice or not, I have always had my concerns that this leaves the door open for fraud. It would be aggravating, but, I too think early voting should be disallowed.

Thanks for the strawman fallacy.
Of course it is best to run a small government conservative AND as I said, all votes should be cast on the same day.

The Constitution indicates one day only for elections day and that is the first Tuesday after the the first Monday in November.
If you are overseas then vote on elections day in the US embassy or diplomatic mission in that country.

I agree, but what about those states that have every voting via mail-in ballot? Like Oregon and soon-to-be Washington. Our election period lasted for about two or three weeks.

You’re pretty ignorant if you really believe that airlines will stop flying, freight will stop moving, and business will simply stop for voting.
Anybody with an IQ over about 30 can figure it out. If you can’t maybe you shouldn’t be voting.
