HARWICH, Mass. Harwich police have a musical mystery on their hands: Who left a piano in the middle of the woods? And why?
The Baldwin piano discovered in the Bells Neck woods appears to be in perfect working condition and had a matching bench as if it had recently been played.
The piano was discovered Saturday by a woman walking along a path inside a conservation area at the woods.
Another question police would like to answer is how the piano got to such a remote location. The piano is heavy and it took more than a half dozen men to load it onto a truck to remove it.

“Right in the middle of my favorite view was a refrigerator...”
Was it running?
Can the Mass Police conduct an adequate investigation in this well orchestrated mystery? Hopefully they can pick up the tempo and solve this puzzle in half time.
Maybe something else plays it... when you’re not. ;)
“Who threw the overalls
In Mrs. Murphy’s chowder?”
Nobody spoke, so we
Shouted all the louder.
“It’s a rotten trick that’s true,
And we’ll lick the drip that threw
The overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s chowder.”
Oh, wait. Where’s my sheet music for ‘Evergreen’?
And a half dozen more government workers to stand around to supervise, and 3 lawyers to file a lawsuit for not hiring enough women with equal pay to help.
It was okay. I got bored during the movie so I don't remember much.
They still haven’t found who left the cake out in the rain!
There is no "sheet music" in this High C hijinks...just a rap sheet.
There is an old story about a music professor who lived in the dormatory with his students, and there was a piano, of course, in the dorm.
The students would aggrivate the professor by one of them going to the piano in the middle of the night, and playing a scale but failing to play the octave note (the last note of the scale).
They did this night after night, until one night, the professor himself got up and banged out the octave note for five minutes.
I’ll bet it was that professor who moved the piano to the woods.

Piano. Wilderness. Lillian Gish! (I have aliens on video too!)
“Nobody seems to care about the harmonica found on the steppe of North Dakota.”

And yet there continues to be a wanton disregard for that Oboe abandoned in the Great Basin of Nevada.
And everyone just ignores the neglected Viola lingering on the high plateau Pueblo of New Mexico.
"if their that big to carry a piano into the woods I don't wanna know who they are"....cue the spooky music
And now for something completely different.
Youre all missing the obvious. It was the aliens.

Well on the way back to the police station the cruiser got A Flat, and since they were in the middle of nowhere, they were in treble. When they took the cruiser to a body shop, it needed to be tuned up. Meanwhile, the police needed to figure out what to bass their investigation on.
That must have been near the Minden, Athens and Gibsland area!I saw that back in 1943 when the zinc penny was minted!
