After reading the thread about the young man committing suicide - it was even more poignent seeing this video. What a great witness to the power of God and the human spirit for those teens to see. I remember those years and the depression and suicidal thoughts that went with them.

If you're asking me if I would, I would have to say no. But after watching his videos, I have to say that I am happier knowing that the things I currently worry about really ain't that big a deal and most of it is out of my control anyway.
Mysteriously enough, this is the second major affirmation I have received in the past two weeks that make me realize how fortunate I am and I have no right to complain about anything.
I have been undergoing physical therapy since the beginning of October due to a torn tendon in my shoulder. Now most people wouldn't think much about that nor would I except for the fact that softball and racquetball are major elements in my life. I lived for them......They allowed me to focus on something other than the loss of my job two years ago.
This injury occured in a softball tournament back on August 18 and since then I have been unable to do anything athletic with my right arm..
That was really starting to get to me until one day a few weeks ago I was at the PT clinic when a man was brought into the facility in a wheel chair and he had a prosthesis on his right leg. As I was watching him go thru his therapy session I realized that his prosthesis was the least of his troubles that he an quite an amount of paralization in his body. It was then I started thinking that maybe my shoulder wasn't such a big deal compared to his and to stop worrying about its future.
Then two weeks ago a young gal in her early 30's became my new therapist so we got to talking. I relayed to her my transformation in spirits after witnessing the gentleman in the wheelchair and told how thankful I was to just have this nagging shoulder injury. She concurred then proceeded to tell me her story.
She is married with two children and her husband was a therapist there also and back in May, the company that owned the facility, which was one of many, offered her husband a partnership. They of course were thrilled. However, two days after that her husband came down with pneumonia and was hospitalized.
From there it just kept getting worse and worse and worse and most of what she told me was just a blurr. But in a nutshell, her husband has lost the function of both his kidneys and is currently on dialysis. He is in a wheelchair and is facing having his toes amputated and quite possibly his finger tips.
I was hearbroken to hear her story and I really couldn't offer any encouragement other than to encourage her to keep faith in God and that he has a purpose for all of us. She said she understood and told me about an individual she witnessed while taking her husband to the hospital on one of his visits. The person she told me about was a quadraplegic and not even able to use one of those breath activated devices to control a wheel chair.
In conclusion, her personal story and then watching this video has caused me to totally reevaluate my life.
I am truly blessed...
But back to your first question Ron, how many times do we see an interview of a soldier who has lost a limb in combat being asked if they have any regrets and they respond by saying "no regrets and I would do it over again in a heartbeat....."
Maybe a strange thought but none the less something to ponder.
I guess no matter how bad we think we have it, there is always some one is is worse off and we should always be thankful for what we do have, though the man in the video had every reason to be bitter, but was more content, with more purpose in his life than most can dream of.
