Rosie ODonnell has defended herself against critics who were angry she did not get involved in the battle against Californias Proposition 8, which set out to eliminate the right of same sex couples to marry.
This is nothing new for me, Rosie told reporters on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times. When I got married, it was an act of civil disobedience as much as it was a love story. There is not any person in the country who doesnt know Im for gay marriage.
The star was criticized by some anti-Prop.8 groups for not lending her voice or money alongside stars like Brad Pitt, Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Spielberg, Pete Wentz and T.R. Knight, to fight the proposition, which passed in the recent November 4 election.
Im not vocal enough? Rosie said. I got married before anyone else did. Ive been living it and living it for a very long time.
Though the East Coast-based star may not have joined the battle against a California ballot initiative, she continues to use her voice to share details about her past at daytime talk show, The View.
Rosie told reporters that her former boss and View co-star, Barbara Walters, wanted everyone to believe and think and act as if [the panelists] get along and are really good friends and happy and hang out together, and, you know, thats just not the reality, the Los Angeles Times quoted her as telling a group of journalists. Im not saying they loathe each other, but the fact of the matter is, there was not a lot of camaraderie off camera.
She used to be such a fun actress and television personality.
Rosie is so bombastic, so belligerent and antagonistic, that if she had weighed in during the election, she would have driven voters away from support for same-sex marriage.
There’s no way Rosie could help “them.”
I thought we got rid of this nitwit.
I hear that some network is giving her another chance at a TV program. Does anybody think she has an audience anymore?
Hear it was NBC. Is that right? By the way, I'm still waiting for her to explain that fire does not melt steel. Nitwit.
That says it all right there, doesn't it?
Obama should have saved his “lipstick on a pig” routine for Rosie O’Donnell. It was the first thought I had on seeing the promo..

Live by identity politics; die by identity politics.
It was all about sending a message to President Bush.
"We were both just trying to come here after the sitting president said the vile and vicious and hateful comments he did on Tuesday and inspired myself and my brand-new wife to fly here this morning".
“There is not any person in the country who doesnt know Im for gay marriage.
Well, Rosie O’Fatass, I’ll bet there are lots of people in the country who don’t know you, don’t want to know you, and couldn’t give a rip about you and your leftist agenda. How pompous can you actually be?
By the way, can you remember the “vile and vicious and hateful things” Pres. Bush said?
I don’t care for the man but I NEVER heard him say anything that was even remotely vile and vicious and hateful.
Of course he did not. That woman is just delusional.
“can you remember the vile and vicious and hateful things Pres. Bush said?”
No. That bid ol’ bulldyke is suffering delusions again. She needs to roll away and stay out of sight.
Rosie is trying to be less scary just prior to her new show’s debut.
She’s so desperate she even claimed she likes Sarah Palin and would like to have a beer with her.
Anyone really believe that?
Rosie’s last chance to keep her star shining.
Can’t wait to see the abysmal ratings.
If that fugly, talentless pig had gotten involved it would have been 60-40 instead of what it was (52-48?)
