Hmmmm....I just watched it and somehow missed this.
I just watched it too (Tivo); the comment was at the very end of the interview with Gretchen. It was definately a WTF? moment. She should have asked him to clarify what he meant because it made no sense.
He probably said we needed to get the big 3 costs “in line with” the foreign company costs.
I can see how some would mishear that as saying we needed to raise the costs for the other companies.
You have to remember that it’s not just liberals that suffer from derangement syndromes, there’s an RDS around FR that leads people to misunderstand a lot of what is said.
Unfortunately, they get a lot of encouragement, so we still see lots of false and misleading stories posted.
Thanks for the clarification. I would have to see him saying it before believing that he did. I hold to the trust,-but-verify dictum.
