BNP membership list leaked onto internet (British National Party)
The Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | November 18, 2008 | James Kirkup and Christopher Hope

Posted on 11/18/2008 1:56:10 PM PST by Stoat

A police officer, more than a dozen soldiers, a vicar and a Chelsea pensioner have been named on a list purporting to comprise the entire membership of the British National Party.

They were exposed after bloggers posted around 10,000 names, together with home addresses, telephone numbers, jobs and even hobbies on the internet.

The leak led some BNP members to fear that they may lose their jobs or face other reprisals

At least one serving police officer is on the membership list, along with several retired officers.

The Association of Chief Police Officers has banned police officers and staff from belonging to the BNP. Last month a Greater Manchester police officer was forced to resign after he was seen wearing a BNP badge at a football match

(edit)

The publication of the list sparked panic among BNP members using anonymous internet chatrooms. Many expressed fears that they may lose their jobs or face disciplinary action as a result.

One user of a right-wing site wrote: "I'm also on the list, what the ---- is going on? I could lose my job."

Another said: "The reccession means many of us could lose our jobs, add this info to it and its a dead cert."

The publication of the membership list sparked jubilation among anti-racist groups and other critics of the BNP, which wants an immediate halt to immigration and the "voluntary resettlement" of existing immigrants.

The BNP leadership on Tuesday confirmed that the list was a broadly accurate picture of the party membership list for 2007. The party and said it had contacted police about the publication.

Never heard of the BNP. Do they have some kind of extreme agenda that the British police would bar membership?

The MSM in Britain have branded them as 'extreme', 'racist' and even as 'fascist', as have some FReepers.  Some Brit FReepers are also vocal supporters of the BNP, so it seems to be a matter of what a person believes.

Regarding the police officers being banned from membership, this snippet from the BNP official site addresses that:

Genuine members who are concerned over possible problems that could arise may like to note that even the leftist bigots of the General Teaching Council accepted openly at Adam Walker’s disciplinary hearing yesterday that he had every right to be a teacher and a member of the British National Party. The fire service has already accepted the same point.

While the GTC’s use of a technical infringement of a rule that Adam had never been told about is obviously motivated by political malice, the fact remains that police officers and prison warders are the only people whose jobs involve a specific (and probably illegal) ban on them being members and candidates as long as they do not bring their politics into the workplace.

It should no matter what their views are. The fact the “state” in the UK attempts to deny them employment, smear them, steal their votes or supress them through thuggery shows the Uk is a police state.

They're not too keen on non-whites.

If Labour is Democrat then the Tories would be Republicans but I don’t think we have an equivalent of the BNP here.

I have a friend across the pond who is a card carrying member (and yes I’ve seen the card)... don’t see his name there so the list couldn’t be too complete.

Here's the BNP statement from their site on the 'racist' claims....take it for what you will and for what it's worth.

Is the BNP Racist The British National Party

The enemies of British Nationalism continue to parrot the claim that the BNP is a “racist party.” This claim is most often repeated because the BNP unashamedly addresses itself to the issues and concerns of the indigenous British population, and because it seeks to ensure that British people remain the majority population in this country.  Opponents point to the fact that the BNP has an all-white membership, and that we address issues concerning white people.

If the BNP is racist for holding this position, then, we would suggest, all of the following organisations - some of them state funded - are also “racist” because they too address themselves exclusively to the issues and concerns of their respective communities:

1. Watford Asian Community care

2. Watford African Caribbean Association

3. National Black Police Association

4. Metropolitan Black Police Association

5. Black Londoners Forum

6. Black Information Link (BLINK)

7. Operation Black Vote

8. Federation of Black Housing Organisations (FBHO)

Have you noticed how the media NEVER calls any of these organisations “racist” even though they are openly organised along ethnic lines and stand for the rights of their respective communities?

It seems as if every group has the right to have an organisation speaking up for its rights - EXCEPT the indigenous British people.

In reality, none of these organisations are “racist” — each and every community has the inalienable right to look after its own interests.

This includes the indigenous British folk, and the BNP is proud to be the party which stands up for the rights our folk and country, in exactly the same way that all of the above organisations stand up for their folk.

I don’t think we have an equivalent of the BNP here.

We also don't have the same form of Government or the exact same issues to contend with as our British Friends do...comparing things straight across can sometimes be problematic  :-)

Labour = Democrap, Tories = RINOs.

Anyone opposing illegal immigrants is a NAZI...
