According to Newsweek President-elect Obama has decided to tap Eric Holder as his attorney general, putting the veteran Washington lawyer in place to become the first African-American to head the Justice Department, according to two legal sources close to the presidential transition.
Holder, who served as deputy attorney general during the Clinton administration, still has to undergo a formal “vetting” review by the Obama transition team before the selection is final and is publicly announced, said one of the sources, who asked not to be identified talking about the transition process. But in the discussions over the past few days, Obama offered Holder the job and he accepted, the source said. The announcement is not likely until after Obama announces his choices to lead the Treasury and State departments.

Under the upcoming administration, 62 might become the new 105. If you get my drift.
They might figure out (if they haven’t already) that they could solve the social security problem and the health care problem if they get rid of everyone over the age of 62. With certain politically-connected exceptions, of course.

I don’t like Holder but I had heard Gorelick mentioned and that would have been worse!! I guess we’re still settling for the best of the worst.....

He says himself, that he takes the best that people have to offer meaning he doesn’t have an original thought of his own. He’s proved that by his radical associations. However, the “best” is certainly a question.
Well, the fact that he’s a figurehead is only one of the many terrible things.
Holder is also the guy who got Nolanda Hill indicted on federal charges just as she was going to blow the whistle on Toon's ChiCom fund raising. Nolanda Hill was close to Ron Brown and his inside knowledge of the whole ChiCom for bucks scam. Unfortunately, Ron Brown suffered a severe case of Arkancide.

I don’t even know if it is even possible to use the word Best when describing these democrats. It’s more like settling for the least evil.
I'm trying to remember what it was in the latter part of the Clinton administration that put Holder in a particularly bad light...beyond his involvement in the Elian case and the Marc Rich pardons, I think there was something else...maybe something to do with Gore's attempt to steal the election.
Just did a Google search on him and one item that came up was from DU...they were going ballistic about him ("Chiquita death squad attorney Eric Holder").
Maybe not as bad as Gorelick...doubt that Obama will pick anyone I would like anyway.
