She failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the Republican senators controversial running mate, may yet emerge as the saviour of the American publishing industry. Literary agents are queueing up to sign her to a book deal that could earn her up to $7m.
With Barack Obamas election victory certain to generate dozens of volumes from politicians, strategists and journalists and with another shelfload of memoirs expected from members of President George W Bushs administration Palins personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.
Shes poised to make a ton of money, said Howard Rubenstein, New Yorks best-known public relations adviser.
Every publisher and a lot of literary agents have been going after her, added Jeff Klein of Folio Literary management.

yes.
and, i wonder when no one knew obamao,
why were his book sales so high?
often, richer people transfer wealth to authors by buying
a load of the books.
If Sarah Palin is considered a failure I wonder what the msm and the print media calls itself.
Bought Regan’s ‘Letters’
Bought one of Newt’s books......just because
Ordered Rumsfeld’s book but publication has been delayed for months so I cancelled.
This is why she is a winner in this deal no matter what the outcome of the election. She is now a spokesperson for her party and she now gets a financial benefit. She should hold out for more. How much did they pay Hillary?
Go get it Sarah, it will be a best seller
If she gets $7 million, it would blow peoople’s mind, in this age of greed, to donate all or most of it to a foundation studying Downs Syndrome and autism. I’ll bet she does, she doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk.
He could have fought for it or he could have fought against it. Either one would have been better for the campaign than his actions which looked like someone wandering around the mall in confusion wondering where Montgomery Ward was.
This is fantastic news! Can’t wait to read it. She deserves every penny she gets!
She can write her book and collect the money.
The law was not written to apply to the Constitutional office of the Governor.
The part of the law at issue:
“AS 39.52.170. Outside Employment Restricted.
...(c) The head of a principal executive department of the state may not accept employment for compensation outside the agency that
the executive head serves.”
But according to the Alaska Constitution, by definition the Governor is NOT “The head of a principal executive department of the state”:
“Article 3 - The Executive
... 25. Department Heads
The head of each principal department shall be a single executive unless otherwise provided by law.
He shall be appointed by the governor, subject to confirmation by a majority of the members of the legislature in joint session,
and shall serve at the pleasure of the governor, except as otherwise provided in this article with respect to the secretary of state.
The heads of all principal departments shall be citizens of the United States.”
(Of course some immoral gutless sissy liberal lawyer may think otherwise...)

When I was going to school in NY, I ran into people who thought that Kansas City was still without paved roads and that we had cattle walking the dirt roads.

Not me. I plan on buying several copies.
Headline should be: “Sara Palin’s Success In Giving John McCain A Shot At American Presidency Leads To Admiration By American Public And Chance To Tell All”.
Obama was collecting money from speaking engagements while a Senator...which he is not supposed to do...but he did...and no one seemed to notice...another of those...Obama thangs.
