Democrats Really do Despise Religion, Don’t They?
Publius' Forum ^ | 11/15/07 | Warner Todd Huston

On his November 10 Huffington Post, Nicholas Graham and nearly every commenter thereafter, purposefully distorted what Governor Palin said about prayer and the 2012 presidential race. The universal misconstruction of Palin's comments was that she was "praying to become president" in 2012 and that somehow God was speaking directly to her. But reality is she did not say that at all.

Graham offhandedly claimed that Palin said that she was waiting "for a sign from God" as to whether she would run in 2012. Further distorting her comments, he claimed she was "confident God would show the way to the White House." But, once again, she said neither of these things. In fact, what she actually said is rhetoric that is pretty much in accord with what even elected presidents have said at one time or another.

Unfortunately, we have arrived at a time when the default position for Democrats as a party is to despise religion even if individually they consider themselves religious. They consider any expression of religious sentiment whatsoever to be an example of "extremism," and "bigotry" against others. Well, at least the second any Republican expresses a religious sentiment, that is. When anyone from their side does it, they wink, nod and assume that their politician is just lying and merely trying to get elected and doesn't really mean it -- which is still an expression of a hatred for religion when all is said and done...

“Well, I guess it is true. They hate religion to the enth degree.”

COLMES: You’re talking about godless liberals not having values, not being values people. In light of that you’ve been in the news a little bit lately, accused by election supervisor Arthur Anderson of Palm Beach of voting in the wrong district and not answering a registered letter that they sent to. And they say that you might have committed a felony. So could you address those charges and tell us what happened?

COULTER: I think the syphilis has gone to their brains.

THAT is how to talk about Liberals...

"Democrats Really do Despise Religion, Don’t They?"

Democrats? That's a broad brush. I'd say the far left, aka moonbats despise religion.

I don’t know that it’s any better on the right.

I don’t know how many posts I’ve seen on this site saying the Republicans need to drop the ‘Religious Right’.

Liberals hate any assertion that there is a “right” and a “wrong”, as they are much more comfortable working in shades of gray and making it up as they go along.

I am hoping God will show Sarah an open door for bigger and better things and close the door of opportunities for the libs that despise the religious beliefs this country was founded on.

Evil naturally hates anything good. They can’t understand Gods love and the power of religion to transform lives. Just wait—when times get bad people will turn back to God. Their are no atheists in the foxholes of Bataan. Just as Russia is going back to God so to will the USA.

Between them and the conservatives with MDS, that's why Romney has no chance to be POTUS.

My sense of it was that conservatives were nervous about Romney more based on some of the positions he took as MA governor rather than his Mormonism. I think if he can get consevatives to trust him on the basis of conservative issues, then they will generally disregard his religeous affiliation, and he could be a viable candidate in 2012.

Now, technically, the liberals ONLY despise the religious right: The approve of and demand we (the infidels) follow Islamic law, follow and respect Indian religions, native American religions, the atheist religion, the national socialist religions, the “black liberation religions”...

Stoning a raped teenager to death is OK. Mandatory, in fact. Beheading a woman is OK. Killing a baby is mandatory and approved.

Carrying a cross is a “hate crime” however.

It is ONLY the religious traditions and heritage of the Roman Catholic, Mormon, and Christian religions that are “verboten” and hate-filled.

Lately I have more and more trouble distinguishing between the two. When Zell Miller retired, it marked a time for me that the very last conservative democrat existed.

Didn’t you get the the Southern Poverty Law Center Memo?

Christian Churches are hotbeds of HATE, and Christians are now considered a HATE GROUP. Persecute them as you wish, send them in to the arena with lions, etc., they matter not.

Nicolae Carpathia/Hussein Obama is now in charge, and the evil Christians will be “Dealt” with....

Democrats, in general ~ a broad brush ~ don't respect anyone else's rights. It's only a matter of time until violence breaks out among the members of the "Party of Death".

The question is do we stand aside or help them out.
