Because ALL Hawaii birth certificates are sealed because they are Vital Records and not public records in order to prevent identity theft. Only the person listed on a birth certificate or their designee can gain access to a vital record.

Wait a minute—didn’t you point me to the post earlier that said the problem is that his mom didn’t live in Hawaii long enough after 16?

What exactly is the problem? False birth certificate or constitutional disqualification due to legal requirements of birth parents?
