Even if you think he was a natural born citizen, you have to acknowledge that his refusal to do a very simple thing, release the birth certificate, is highly suspicious.

It is quite possible that the birth certificate bears an annotation of his adoption by Soetero, making him thenceforth an Indonesian citizen, a status he never renounced. Furthermore, it may be that his birth certificate even bears the last name Soetero, depending on the practice of that state at the time. What would be the legal ramifications of such a thing? I have no idea, but whatever they are, I’m sure Obama has consulted about it and has decided that the results would possibly not be favorable to him. At the very least, it reveals him as an unscrupulous liar, but we all knew that anyway.

The fact that the Dems tried to slip language permitting a naturalized citizen to be President into another resolution of theirs makes me think that at least some Dems are aware of the situtation, too. Otherwise, if he had been born in Hawaii as you assert, he and the Dems would certainly have released the original by now simply to make his accusers look foolish. Instead, he’s hiding it - because he needs to hide it for some reason.

I have done some research on Indonesian citizenship laws and while yes, he might have had dual citizenship until age 18, it did not extend into adulthood unless he actively chose that citizenship over US.

I just posted in this thread my thoughts on the ‘non release’ of the bc. Should just be up a couple of posts.

Another fact to consider is that the state of Hawaii, under statute, ONLY releases the short form. While I absolutely understand the desire to see the entire long form (vault form), I am VERY hesitant to have the executive branch usurp state law.

I hadn't heard about that little snippet. Who did this? When?
