I doubt Paterson is interested in the Senate. He’s got a house in Albany, plus the Governor’s Mansion, and he also has a house in NY City. He’s the Governor. Why would he become a Senator?

I recall hearing that Paterson wasn’t even that interested in being Governor and he definitely was not interested in being Senator. The idea was being discussed during the primary as to what he would do if Hillary was elected president. That seems like eons ago.

I am being a little facetious. The thing is, I’m sure that Mr. Paterson is finding that being governor is a lot tougher than being a legislator. He never bargained to be governor, and he has a real mess in New York. There must be a part of him that would think that it would be appealing to leave Albany and enter the Senate. (Oh, and by the way, Paterson has earned my respect. I don’t agree with him, but he has called for cuts, as opposed to tax increases in New York. He will lose this battle, of course, but for a flaming liberal, he at least talks the right talk).
