The Governor of our great state tells it like it is!
He says, Texas is doing fine because we are holding firm
to the four key values:
1. Don't spend all the money
2. Be thoughtful in regulatory process, but firm
3. Legal system that doesn't allow frivolous lawsuits
4. Fund an accountable public school system
Then get out the way....

Some people on here are going to be disappointed that Gov Perry called Amnesty assinine since they berate him all the time as being a liberal.

This doesn’t look the least bit liberal to me.

Beginning to wonder about some posters that keep attacking all our elected officials with giving them little to no credit.

BTW, I really like Rick Perry.

It is all about the TTC- they look at that as giving in to some NWO, thus, pro-amnesty by default.

Perry took some heat for his “required” immunization for cervical cancer for young teenage girls, and rightly so.

He is quite easy on the eyes and the ears. Has he made any statements about Ramos & Compean? If he isn’t for clemency for these men, that will tell me a lot.

Gov Perry signed on to the following statement from the Texas Republican Party platform:

Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Republican Party of Texas State Executive Committee urges all members of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives, as well as Governor Rick Perry and Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, to support in everyway possible these law enforcement officers – Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean – fellow Texans, to be immediately released from prison on bond and to be granted immediately new trials, not a pardon as such a pardon may be construed as an admission of guilt where in this case there is none.

Correction that was a Texas State Republican Executive Comittee resolution, not platform (not much difference though, both official statements by the party as to a position on the subject.)

There were two things he tries to jam down the throats
of Texans that stick in a lot of our craws.

The big one is the trans Texas Tollway.

The other was the attempt to force the Gardasil vaccinations.

I like him too, wanna trade? (Blago) Uh, guess I wouldn’t either!

Hopefully a Republican Governor will go to the White House, and ours will go to the Big House!

I was griping about the TTC last week and someone pointed out something I hadn’t thought of. Some of the biggest opponents of the TTC in one breath are the same folks in another breath who claim the government should be out of the highway business and it privatized.... just a thought...

I’ll admit I’ve given Perry hell and honestly have never liked him. (from when he was Lt. Gov) (and he’s an Aggie)

As the late Ann Richards use to say, “He’ll do fine, he’s got nice hair”

I agree. I fled a democRAT state to come to Texas for a reason. Texas is what America used to be, and has jobs galore. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that Texas is run entirely by the GOP? < /rhetorical >

Anyone who thinks that Rick Perry is a liberal has issues with reality.

I say that about Mr. Perry as a good thing actually.

As far as I go, picture Billy Dee Williams.

Not being an expert on 70's porno stars, I'll have to take your word for it.

He used to be a (conservative old Texas) Democrat, and I believe his parents still are.

I think he switched during the Reagan revolution.

He has the reputation of being a do-nothing Governor (which is not always a bad thing). U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchenson is planning on challenging him next election.
