How can they tell it wasn’t, say, Sidney Portier that was depicted?

She warrants a Secret Service visit — advocating for or threatening the assassination of a President is a crime.

Then why didn't Craig Kilborn get arrested for his infamous snipers wanted graphic on national TV?

The double standard just gets to me.

My guess is that if you were to erect a sign on your property offering to execute or assassinate the current president, that you too would see your name in the newspaper and have the Secret Service kick in your door, crawl-up your butt and turn your life upside down.

Please — the implication that the Secret Service has a double standard in the investigation of Presidential threats is entirely laughable. The Secret Service does their job ... no matter who occupies the office.

If memory serves, Craig Kilborn was visited by Secret Service. The threat was dismissed as not serious ... as it will likely be in this case. I said the schmuck warranted a visit ... not an arrest/trial/punishment.

Oh, by the way, since we’re now being watched so closely; that WAS a joke.

I do not advocate making threats against others, whether they be president, president-elect, or regular citizen.

After they serve the search warrant on his home and start counting and measuring his weapons, inspecting the property and auditing his taxes, he will have some serious issue to deal with.

pretty swift when it is obama...where were they when the guy declared his “art” where one got to take a shot at sarah palin? where was the outrage when a gay couple hung sarah palin from his house? she was a republican...never mind...
seems the secret service plays favorites to.

A few years ago I saw a kid at Seattle’s Labor Day weekend “Bumbershoot” festival peddling t-shirts depicting President Bush being shot in the head. Nobody bat an eyelash, I never saw mention of it in the news, and I’m sure the Secret Service did NOT pay that kid a visit. I think there is definitely a double-standard. A few weeks ago when someone hung Sarah Palin in effigy down in Hollywood, public officials didn’t give a damn, and made excuses for the guy - a police spokesman cited “free speech” and all. Are you going to tell me it wouldn’t have been different if it had been Obama hung in effigy?

Scary. The government does not have to prove you actually committed a real physical crime. They can simply ruin a person for their thoughts, with never a courtroom in sight. Who needs trials anyway?

Bush can be hung, stabbed, burnt, castrated, decapitated in effigy and it can be broadcast world wide and considered “chic” to do so ...but one sign of discourse against Obama and that gets a great wailing and gnashing of teeth from the left and calls of racism.

He will 'rule' from the Whitehouse on YouTube. All his edicts will be issued via YouTube.

A sign that you can barely read from 15 feet away, posted by some Old English-guzzling geezer in the boondocks, gets the attention of the Secret Service, but I don’t think the SS ever looked into that hanging of the Sarah Palin effigy in the middle of Hollywood. If they did, it was very reluctantly.
