FYI
I agree with you. I fear the damage the MSM has done to her is not going to wear off in four years. Eight? Sure, people have short memories. But for the short term, she’s been effectively Quayled to the mushy middle of this country. She gives one helluva speech but from a rhetorical depth standpoint she’s Barack Obama with a record of accomplishment. Jindal can communicate why socialism is the wrong path. Palin can TELL you it sucks - but at this point in her career she doesn’t have the ability to tell you WHY.
But Jindal articulates our positions better (at this point anyway). He does it with the ease and confidence that I haven’t seen since Reagan. That kind of confidence only comes with solid conservative core values. I was a bit annoyed with him during Katrina for ‘appearing’ to be so quick to lay the entire blame on the Bush Administration...but then I remembered to consider the source that ‘reported’ it(the MSM), who are always trying to divide and conquer our party by pitting us against each other all the time.
I am open on both of them. The only thing that concerns me about Palin in any way, is what appears to be a populist bent...but that was probably imposed on her from the McCain camp.
iv’e never seen anything like it....its so cool but also very odd...but i love it
Please stay out of the damned Senate.
I’m not in the deport them now category either. I’m in the shut down the freebie ride category. No welfare, no drivers licences, no school, no college tuition, no jobs. The majority will leave on their leave on their own
Count me on your side. My husband and I have come to blows over Sarah. He thinks she has what it takes to carry the future of the GOP and although I like her and want her on our team, I think we need someone with more heft.
I’m sure you are correct. Maybe it’s because she’s up in Alaska and it doesn’t affect them much. If she is as smart as people says she is and a quick learner, maybe Duncan Hunter or Tancredo needs to escort her around the lower 48 and see the damage illegals do to the economy.
In a way I wish McCain hadn’t picked her so she could run as Jindal’s running mate. I suppose it could work, but right now I just can’t see her as # 2 again. But then, I can’t really see Jindal as # 2 either. However, you look at it, at least we have some great ones to choose from next time around!
Do yourself a favor and research about Sarah Palin and her involvement to bring about the Alaska Highway pipeline which TransCanada Corp is going to build. It is not only impressive but the natural gas pipeline will contribute 6%-8% of the USA's natural gas needs. Given that Iran, Russia, and Qatar are in the process of building a natural gas cartel, Palin has just won a geopolitical economic war against our enemies. And she thumped ExxonMobil, ConnocoPhillips, and BP in the process! That's brilliance!
Don't sit in front of the TV and get fed that snippy nonsense about Palin. Go find online magazine articles from the energy industry that discuss Palin and the pipeline.
I know that Palin has won a geopolitical economic war and has made forward and significant steps to energy Independence in America, I can't say the same about McCain, Biden, or Obama.
Gosh, get over this lady. She is not presidential material. I almost got on the bandwagon but very quickly saw that was an error. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean they need to be President. Please don’t make this mistake in 2012.
I love Barbour! Man, a Palin/Barbour ticket would be awesome.
Over 70% of Americans are against illegal immigration and amnesty. Since we know that McCain is for it, as are the dims, if Sarah comes out against it and sides with the American people, does that make her a populist?
Her national numbers are the direct result of the liberal press absolutely trashing her, AND HER OWN PARTY RINOS attacking her.
I have yet to hear Jindal speak. Can’t form an opinion.
No shame about her belief in God. That's a VERY good sign, and Reaganesque too. God bless YOU, Sarah. We love you out here. Ignore the drive-bys. Full speed ahead!
And what is your reason for not backing her? Please don’t use the Couric/Gibson interviews either.
We definately have some up and coming stars. I want a fighter next time around too. No ‘reaching across the aisle’ talk in every speech and press release. Screw that stuff! We need to bring people to our views by the power of our ideas/principles and the proof of their successes throughout the history of our country.
Because anyone who questions the merits of her at the top of the ticket is an MSM robot and clearly a troll, right? How many times must it be said? I like the woman, A LOT. She has a clear record of excellence and conservative governance. But I *personally* don’t THINK she has the ability from a policy depth standpoint and a rhetorical standpoint to lead a counter-revolution among us, the base, and to inform the braindead middle why conservatism matter. I think Jindal does. Flame away.
This “Sarah is the only one for us!” is the same type of insular thinking that got us to this point. Not everyone - least of all the people who still watch the evening news and Saturday Night Live - thinks like we do. That stinks, but it’s reality.
uhh...I wasn’t talking about ‘amnesty’ or ‘illegal immigration’. I did not even mention it. Why the snarky attitude?
