(CNN) — Republican Paul Broun is sorry for calling President-elect Barack Obama a 'Marxist' and comparing him to Adolph Hitler, the Georgia Congressman said Tuesday.

What should the poor guy have said? That Obama is a "Communist" and should be compared to Stalin?
It’s possible they had something on him. Now, I know O’s not in office yet but I’m sure W will give him anything he needs. He called Clinton and asked his advice on how to greet Obama. Maybe he got some FBI files from Clinton and gave them to O.
Cuba News Network says that Sarah Palin is willing to help or work with Obama on certain issues.

Tell me where the congressman was wrong. Calling Hitler is extreme and not necessary. The cult of personality and the policies do represent similar to Hitler and other dictators. It is something we have not seen here in America. The closest might have been FDR, but that was far different situation.

Remember when Dick Armey called Barney Frank "Barney Fag"? He apologized profusely. I loved every apology because each apology offered another mention of "Barney Fag".
This could be a trick; say something outrageous, get you name in the paper, then apologize to make sure the story has legs. Maybe this is not so conspiratorial but don't think for a minute politicians don't know how to play games.
