The military, no. Obama's Truth Squad/Civilian Defense Force, yes.
In 2008, for the first time an active military unit has been given a dedicated assignment stateside for civil unrest containment. It is assigned to Northcom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.[7]

Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 13rd Infantrys 1st BCT trains for a new dwell-time mission. Helping people at home may become a permanent part of the active Army

Posted : Tuesday Sep 30, 2008 16:16:12 EDTThe 3rd Infantry Divisions 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.
Now theyre training for the same mission with a twist at home.
Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.
It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005, for example, when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana, several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas.
But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.
After 1st BCT finishes its dwell-time mission, expectations are that another, as yet unnamed, active-duty brigade will take over and that the mission will be a permanent one.

Well, we’ve seen the disrupters before, here in the Puget Sound region. They are often in need of showers... *\;-)
I heard him too. I think he is on to something. I am going to stock up starting now before it take a million$+ to buy cheerios.

Wifey looks very similar...but would have a fit if I posted pics of her dressed like that.;)
Boat shot is in a Wal-Mart parking lot on the other side of the state.
BTTT
Bump for interesting and for later reading...
They have troops standing by.
They are also training more elite units for security reasons within the US as posted here on FR.
To the point and clearly laid out! Brilliant! I really like it!
Hi, this is my first post here, though I have lurked for a while now. If you can stand the language, www.tickerforum.org is the place to really look into what is going on in the financial markets. I mostly lurk there as well and have for over a year and a half and the guy running it is DEAD ON with what is happening and what will happen. He was even on Glen Beck a while ago.
Jesus!!!
A brigades troop strength varies between 3,000 - 5,000. Far short of what would be needed to respond to civil unrest on a national level
Perhaps this will help explain why McCain "campaigned" like he was taking the dive in a Don King boxing match.
Who would want their name tarnished with the destruction of the largest economic power on the planet.
I sure hope the military will be thinking about their oaths and be on our side!
I’m too tore up to start gardening or farming at this late stage in the game. What Momma has got in the pantry will have to do.
Then there’s the other option ....
I have keys to the gates, hanger doors and the ignition. What more would I need besides charts? Oh, good weather ‘cause I’m not IFR rated.
I haven't expressed my concerns about this to even my wife, but it's clear to me the US government will soon be insolvent. We can expect runaway inflation ( like Germany in the 20s) as the Government prints more and more paper. The people's confidence may very well plummet in the near future, leading to the revolt mentioned in the list.
Whether Congress was briefed on this future forecast or not doesn't really matter.
