Fresh off a US presidential election defeat and further losses in Congress, the Republican Party launched a new website on Tuesday asking members for their ideas on its future.
"We are a party of principles and must regain our voice," Republican National Committee chairman Robert Duncan said in a statement announcing the creation of the website, RepublicanForAReason.com.
"We need to hear what our volunteers, activists, elected leaders, and party members think about the Republican Party as we rebuild, re-focus, and renew our bond with the American people," Duncan added.
The statement said the new website provides a venue for party members to "offer their opinion of where the party is headed and how we can be better prepared for the future."

It appears you have to sign up and this will allow you to log in.
HOWEVER, I would suggest for those who have not read the 2008 GOP Platform, you might want to do so before you make any suggestions as this will help make you better informed.

I only glanced thru it quickly and while it may be there, I noticed NOTHING about the 2nd Amendment and this in particular bothers me:
Under "ENERGY:"
Addressing Climate Change Responsibly
The same human economic activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere.
While the scope and long-term consequences of this are the subject of ongoing scientific research, common sense dictates that the United States should take measured and reasonable steps today to reduce any impact on the environment.
Someone at the RNC has obviously been drinking the Green KoolAid, which in itself is problematic for me.
My first vote for President was in 1964 and (being young, dumb and -- fill in the blank lol) in the USAF, I voted for Johnson.
Since then I have never voted for a Democrat, albeit deciding in 72 to quit the Republican Party and have not returned since.
The reason was because as a Nam Vet, I was highly incensed when Ford refused to exercise his duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Paris Peace Accords and would not honor our commitment to assist South Vietnam when invaded by the North with conventional forces including heavy armor, regardless of the traitorous Rats in Congress having cut off funding.
Subsequently over the years, the RNC has given me NO reason to reconsider even during the Reagan years, who I supported with contributions but not to the RNC.
That said, if the RNC elects a "Conservative" Chairman and they change their attitude (i.e. gets their sh*t together) and decides to become a true Republican Party, I might consider joining, volunteering, assisting and even, contributing.
Time will tell!!!
Bookmarking so I can compose my “suggestions” later, after work. Thanks for posting.
“The same human economic activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere.”
the world’s elite have acquired the same disease the French Monarchy acquired in the late 18th century.....they are too sheltered to appreciate that it is the work of the peons and peasants that make their world so comfortable.

MAKE ALL GOP PRIMARIES “CLOSED” PRIMARIES
No more propping up of the weakest horse in the stable by the media.
I remember 1993 and as bad as Obama/Pelosi might seem McCain’s loss was required :
1) For the public to actually expect something from democrats, stop rewarding them with votes for driving down their own approval ratings
2) For republicans to clean house and undo damage from last 8 years, and we have a tougher climb than in 1992, ...
And a common for will bring us together something we really need, democrats had.
The Democrats have an ACTIVE Web program in place, and it will be hard to match.
They are getting HUGE amounts of overseas cash filtered through orgs like MoveOn, or ACT BLUE.
MoveOn can get a million people on the phones to your congressman, or rent a mob to “protest” in front of the TV cameras.
KOS can spread talking points in the media in hours, mainly because much of the media are KOS posters themselves!
Most of this works simply because campaign laws are not being enforced. Without the massive inflows of untraced foriegn cash coming in small amounts, we have no way to compete with this.
You see the Democrat party was absconded from the true democrats to give us what we have today. Call it what you like, they are not Democrats.
The RNC is in the same situation. Palin electrified the base, not McCain. She presented as a true conservative. She was able to withstand all the mudslinging and false accusations. Even the ones going on now...she stands tall. As each new accusation comes up, Palin is able to stand on her integrity and values.
As I see it we have a choice to make. One many here will disagree with, but I push party loyalty aside after this election. We got here through party loyalty and voting for RINOs and what did we get in return? A party with no integrity, no cajones, no principles, no ability to hold eachother let alone the other party accountable, and a willingness forgo the Constitution.
No I will no longer offer my party loyalty to the RNC or GOP, my loyalty rests with what is left of America.
Simple...NEW LEADERSHIP...EVERYWHERE...NOW House...Senate...RNC
A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers. Ronald Reagan at the Conservative Political Action Conference Feb. 15, 1975
I hope this doesn’t end up being the usually....

Now, how much is your contribution toda?”
And that right there my FRiends is the genesis of the idea/term "Guerrilla Conservative". Mark it down FrankR, you have just spawned the moniker of the movement that would win back the country's future. Every one else needs to flood the blog-o-sphere, airwaves with the term/idea.
It's simple and striking as a catch phrase; it will get the attention of the attention deficit disorder population. The message/idea behind it is straight forward, and one that is easily understood.
Conservative (American) values fighting Liberal (un-American) values from behind every tree, fence, and barn. Nothing goes unchallenged; even if it to look at a liberal, or Republican, co-worker and saying "you are wrong".
XXXX/XXXX in '12 (Guerrilla Conservative ISO a bonafide conservative candidate for executive position)
Back when the Republicans were the party of ideas, they were winning big and the Democrats were at a loss on how to compete. Then the GOP turned to the Bushes, spending, pandering, and illegal aliens for the new base. The Democrats didn’t improve, but simply waited for the GOP’s self destruction.
Oh great, a chance for Dems posing as Pubbies to sabotage things.
Since when????
No the democrats got many of their people to run to the right of the rino republicans they beat.
Ditto
You need to listen to some of the ads the democrats were using in GA. They were attacking the republican for his vote for the bailout.
If W and other Republicans were good at economic policy, the bailout never would have been needed.
