This is a clear end run around the Posse Comitatus Act. Furthermore, I doubt these kids will take that same oath at the military, have the same loyalties and priorities, or the same training in what constitutes an unlawful order.
scary!!! My 17 yo grandson just joined the National Guard. He will ‘ship out’ for basic next July 15 (after he graduates).
The youth will be conscripted to be block watchers, as they do in Cuba.

This is so far out in left field I can't fathom it. We already have a national guard. We are the world's only superpower. There is no reason for this except some freakish maniacal control and the financial strain on the economy will be devastating.

Can anyone else ponder the PENALTY when I refuse to send my kid to this? This is really out there idea, and they pocket it in “American Values” when it’s really about exerting CONTROL over a segment of the population. This makes me ill, (it’s only Wednesday) and B. Hussein Obama is still 69 days away from being Sworn In. And to think I thought Hillary was my biggest worry the last 8 years. We haven’t seen ANYTHING yet.
