John McCain says Sarah Palin didn't hurt his presidential bid and he attributes anonymous criticism aimed at her following their loss last week to typical campaign sniping.
--snip--
The Arizona senator tells Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" the Republican ticket faced a tough challenge from the start but disputed that a different vice presidential pick would have changed the outcome.
He had only kind words for the Alaska governor and her family. But he didn't directly address criticism from unidentified McCain operatives ...

Why do this on the Tonight Show? And while I’m at it...Why did they do all the SNL shows? We’ve degraded the Presidency and our political system. Where is the pomp and circumstance that the office deserves to be recognized for?... Am I living in bizarro world or what?
Don’t worry Maverick, we’re not. We’re blaming you and the other RINO’s in the party.
Do you seriously not remember how petty and bitter McCain was after his loss to Bush? He has demonstrated some of those qualities in waiting this long to come out and back up Palin.
Why don’t you turn your guns on the real enemy?
Donated a couple of c-notes to the campaign AFTER Sarah was selected. Ignored all requests for contributions before then.
In her interview with the press in Juneau last Friday, she displayed a genuine affection for McCain.
From her selection on August 30 to election day, she had 65 days to go from being a Governor with little international experience to Vice-Presidential candidate up against a community organizer with no executive experience and a dolt of a senator who conveniently mixes up facts and figures. She did an admirable job taking on those folks, and withstood the full onslaught of the Democrats and the media in bed with Obama. She campaigned tirelessly with no breaks and stood strong to the end. The country was well served having her as a vice-presidential candidate and in a few years she will be back on the national stage better prepared and ready to join the fight again.
Don’t know if this is the real deal but here’s something to ask Mccain about..
A real man would have fired the offenders at a public news conference and blackballed 'em from any position for life.
And who would you suggest that is?
“THIS WAS AN OBAMA DIRTY TRICK!”
Can you provide any links supporting this claim?
Made it up. Maybe I should trademark the phrase. ;^)
The smear was so patently false it bordered on satire. Who in their right mind actually believes she didn't know that Africa is a continent? If any member of the Palin family had set foot in Neiman Marcus it would have made news the day it happened. And divas do not live in Alaska, let alone shoot caribou, or work on fishing boats. They don't have husbands who leave them alone to race at breakneck speeds across the countryside on snow machines. And they sure as shucks don't have Down's babies.
Rational people know better. To me it almost appeared as an attempt by Palin to give the media all the rope it needed.
It doesn’t matter who made the accusations. She was his VP candidate. She always stood up for him. An honorable man would do no less. He sure stands up for the left enough.
I remember McCain giving Pres. Bush an “Eat Shyte and Die” look at his first SOTU address. No class.
I always HATED the phase keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
Can you envision anyone on the planet easier to dupe than Carl “The Empty Vessel” Cameron?
He was had.
And so were you.
Why should he have responded at all?
THE WHOLE DAMN THING WAS MADE UP BY OBAMA OPERATIVES!
Well alrighty then
What was? The sniping? The column by the imaginary staffer taking credit for it was indeed a dirty trick. However, from another thread yesterday, Cameron did get his info from one or more within the McCain campaign. They are trying to put the blame on others so that they can be hired again in the future. I hope their lack of professionalism comes back to bite them in the butt.
Obama and the Chicago thugs.
