Auma Obama - Born from marriage to Kezia in 1960. One of her high school teachers was Ida Oyoo Odinga, wife of Raila Odinga. Obama’s oldest half-sister now living in Berkshire, England and working as a social worker. Married in 1996 to Englishman Ian Manners and they have a daughter named Akinyi (b. 1997).
Abo Obama - Abo was born to Kezia in 1968 and lives in Kenya. He is a younger half-brother to Barack.
Maya Soetoro-Ng - Obama’s younger half sister born in 1970. She is a high-school teacher at La Pietra: Hawaii School for Girls in Honolulu, Hawaii, and teaches night classes at the University of Hawaii.
Bernard Obama - Barack’s half brother, born to Kezia and Barack Obama Sr. in 1970. A Muslim. Supplier of auto parts in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mark Ndesandjo - Half brother from Sr.’s third marriage to Ruth. Mark took and maintains the surname of his stepfather. He has gone to extraordinary lengths to avoid public attention and his family links remain unknown to most of his acquaintances in Shenzhen, a border boomtown in southern China where he has lived since 2002. He lives in Nanshan, a new district of high-rises and streets teeming after dark with young adults eating spicy street food and cramming into bars, karaoke joints and massage parlours. Ndesandjo, who had an elite education in the United States, collected a math and arts degree from Brown University, a masters in physics from Stanford and an MBA from Emory. His mother Ruth was an honor student from Harvard, Ruth runs an upscale daycare center in Nairobi, Kenya.
David Ndesandjo - Half brother from Sr.’s third marriage to Ruth. David took the surname of his stepfather. “David was killed in an auto accident.”
George Hussein Onyango Obama - Barack’s half brother born in 1982 to Obama’s 4th wife named Jael. Lives in a shack in Nairobi, Kenya.
Omar Onyango Obama - “Uncle Omar,” a.k.a. Omar Onyango, who lives in the projects of Boston. Records of Boston Housing Court show a “summary process” was executed against Mr Onyango on February 23, 2000, for unpaid rent of $2,324.70. Whereabouts unknown.
Zeituni Onyango - Obama’s 56 year old aunt living in U.S. illegally, resides in a South Boston slum and has ignored a judge’s order 4 years ago to leave the country. She is the daughter of Hussein Onyango Obama, who is Barack Obama’s grandfather in Kenya.
Hussein Onyango Obama - Obama’s grandfather from whom the senator was given his middle name, Hussein. Was fiercely devoted to Islam, according to an account in “Dreams of My Father.” He died in 1979. “What your grandfather respected was strength. Discipline,’ Obama quoted his grandmother as telling him. “This is also why he rejected the Christian religion, I think. For a brief time, he converted, and even changed his name to Johnson. But he could not understand such ideas as mercy towards your enemies, or that this man Jesus could wash away a man’s sins.
