I guess Obama made that "57 states" gaffe not because he was masturbating before pictures of the late Senator John Heinz but because, as I heard Chris Matthews say today, "Africa is a country with 57 countries." So obviously, Obama was confusing his homeland Africa with America. Last week referring to the statement and this situation my 14 year old made the same link. "Doesn't Africa have 50 something countries in it?" It's good to homeschool and realize my son knows more than I do about some things.

Chris Mathews is either ignorant or is attempting a bad joke aimed at Sarah Palin. There are much fewer than 57 states in Africa.

By far the most likely reason for Obama's gaffe is theat he was thinking of 57 Muslim states in the world.
