Pelosi says voters misunderstood Prop. 8

Proposition 8 adds a new amendment to the California Constitution which says, "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California".

http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=California_Proposition_8_(2008)

San Fran Nan needs to get out of DC and Marin County. Californians weren't confused one bit. It's hard to misunderstand a 14 word proposition.

This is deadly serious, political warfare.

The Right was deflated, depressed and angry when we lost. The Obama operatives moved in for the kill, targeting and isolating the one whom they the most in 2012, Sarah Palin.

The launched a Divide & Conquer assault, to some extent, as a test. McCain passed the test by ignoring it. Sadly, many FReepers did not.

People around here took the bait, “hook, line & sinker”!

All these rumors, lies and fabrications were, are and always will be unverified because THEY NEVER HAPPENED!

Prancing around in a bath towel? Doesn't know Africa's a continent?

Puleeeze! This crap didn't even pass the laugh test.

But too many people were all too eager to form a circular firing squad and, in that sense, we failed the test the Obamabots threw at us.

Hopefully, in the future, we'll “look behind the curtain” and attack the real enemy.

Try this: The HARMLESS essence of all these stories were related HONESTLY AND ACCURATELY by GOP staffers and were subsequently TWISTED by others.

We spend 99.9% of our time swearing that we believe nothing the DBM say, then we swallow this bunch of baloney whole! it makes no sense.

Oh brudder, Podesta on Fox saying how *O*, to quicken things up, will use “executive orders’.

Why have a Congress then? Think of all the money we can save by not paying all of that salary, their staff and taxes on all that real estate.

Do you think it is plausible that he’s been trying to get word out in defense of Sarah, but somehow he can’t find anyone in the media who will let us know about it?

It's this Michael Wolff:

December 2008

Excerpt December 2008: Michael Wolff on Murdoch's dynasty

With six children from three marriages, Rupert Murdoch’s family is a source of endless drama and speculation—most recently about his attractive third wife, Wendi Deng, and their two kids—its dynamics tightly bound to his News Corp. empire.

In an excerpt from his forthcoming book about Murdoch’s takeover of The Wall Street Journal, Michael Wolff has an inside look at the shifting power struggles and emotional inheritances of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, and James Murdoch, as well as Deng’s ascent, for a portrait of that rare phenomenon: the 21st-century dynasty

~~~
About his gayness (besides the pose), I do not know.
Tony Perkins was just on FNC with Bret Baier .. and indicated
that the Pubbies cannot expect that conservatives will stay on this ship without a return to our conservative principles.
I agree ... there will have to be some movement: either the party shapes up, or we have to start from scratch.
Very nice post. You must have learned from me.
For the most part, I’m with you. Especially that bit about the Fairness doctine. Where the hell is their argument? Obama won, didn’t he?
However, you say with McCain gone? Am I wrong in thinking that’s McCain is STILL the Senator from Arizona? I mean here in Delaware Biden won both offices such is the greatness emanating from his hairplugs.
If you mean McCain is gone, figuratively...well I hope you’re right. For McCain to pick up on his shenanigans of reaching across the aisle, forming bigshot lordly gangs and that other nonsense...I can’t imagine.
But even if McCain DOES continue his shanigans I don’t suppose he’ll have any influence so....I think you’re right for the most part.
The irony of this election on conservatives is that instead of demoralyzing us it’s almost as if, FINALLY, we’ve been proven correct. McCain’s maverickness, friends and reaches across the aisle got him diddly-squat. Conservatives are more determined than ever.
So I owe McCain...first for Sarah Palin and second for allowing me to say I TOLE YOU SO.
President Bush was crucified for any executive order he signed.
I cannot wait to see how *O* will be glorified when he fires all the US attorneys!
Hey, Cedric !
I’ve heard references to the bath towel story, but I never heard what it really was.
I think you’ve made a good post here. Why should we expect the less informed, less interested voter not to be influenced by the MSM when we allow ourselves to believe the crap they dish up.
But your theory as to McCain (if I read you right) doing the right thing by ignoring this foolish attack, I can’t agree with. It’s out there. Sarah, at least, is defending herself; she shouldn’t have to do it alone.
PS please explain bath towel story... probably just a damp dream by some of the male staff.
Right...because that is all he knows how to do. He has been campaigning for something all of his adult life.
As a “community organizer”, he was campaigning for power and influence and $$$$$.
He never stays at a “job” once his campaign is finished, and he has accomplished his goal.
His goal now is to keep his power, and to do that, he has to campaign to keep it, which means more lies, and less “evidence” to use against himself. He has a habit of making others at fault for his mistakes, and I daresay with a long line-up behind him for that stupid presser the other day, he has his “targets” all in a row, for the blame to be shoved onto.
Fox News Cut Out From Questions At Obama’s First Press Conference
###
President-Elect Barack Obama held his first press conference yesterday, one that focused mainly on the current economic crisis. One detail that flew under the radar, however, was which networks and newpapers got to ask questions, or, rather, which one didn’t get to ask a question.
As Media Bistro notes, one network who was not called upon sticks out: Fox News.
It will be interesting to see how More..the conservative network adjusts to a political reality in which the Democratic Party holds the White House and substantial majorities in both houses of Congress.
Michael Wolff, a Vanity Fair columnist who is writing an authorized biography on Rupert Murdoch’s career and family, claims that even Murdoch is embarrassed by Fox News:
Now, with about six weeks to go before publication, Mr. Murdoch has raised objections with Mr. Wolff and his publisher about portions of the book, titled “The Man Who Owns the News: Inside the Secret World of Rupert Murdoch,” that suggest that Mr. Murdoch is at times embarrassed by Fox News, which he owns, and its chief executive, Roger Ailes, and that he often shares “the general liberal apoplexy,” as Mr. Wolff writes in the book, toward Fox News and its perceived conservative slant...
...The objections raised on behalf of Mr. Murdoch came after an article on Mr. Murdoch and the book was published in Vanity Fair in the October issue in which Mr. Wolff wrote that Mr. Murdoch was making friends with liberals and that he had soured on Fox News and Mr. Ailes. (A 10,000-word excerpt from the book will be published in the December issue, due out early next month.)
“For a long time, he was in love with the Fox chief, Roger Ailes, because he was even more Murdoch than Murdoch,” Mr. Wolff wrote in the October Vanity Fair piece. “And yet now the embarrassment can’t be missed — he mumbles even more than usual when called on to justify it; he barely pretends to hide the way he feels about Bill O’Reilly.”
The “allegation” is that Governor Palin answered the door of her hotel room scantily clad in nothing but a bath towel when two McCain staffers arrived for a meeting with Sarah.
I don't know how many times the DBM and the Obamabots have to "jump the shark" in this tawdry saga before people wake-up and realize this whole disgusting pack of rumors was FABRICATED!
You had no choice, same as all of us,
who choose to uphold their privilege
to vote ... fought and died for by our
brave warriors for the last 2 centuries.
Hope you can put those bitter thoughts
away, and plan for a better day.
Thank you for doing what you did. I
know you made a difference. It was
NOT a landslide victory for zer0.
God bless us all.
As to your question abut ammo, I don’t know.
But my son just mentioned that he heard on ABC a story about gun sales soaring... the story centered on the Cheaper than Dirt gun store in Grand Prairie, Texas, where the owner allegedly said, “I didn’t want Obama, but he’s good for business.”
You might call and ask them.
Not in Texas but I would just go ask the manager of the local sporting goods store. If there is a limit, go to numerous stores to get what you need.
I've learned from you and many here, Fishtalk.
Re: McCain...his presidential aspirations were his main driving force, imho and that's now gone. I believe he thought his easisest path included the right and middle, so he went maverick to demonstrate moderate creds.
On balance, I think he's been neutered, and no grand prize to chase any longer.
It's possible he'll play maverick Republican to get some attention with David Letterman or Leno but I expect him to fade. I can't imagine him acting as leader of the party, although there certainly is vacuum there, isn't there ?
I think Mc's up again in 2 years and I suppose he'd run. If it's 4 years (sorry I can't recall ofttomh) I bet he retires. Would O tempt McCain with SECDEF if Gates won't stay?
