More top McCain-Palin aides come out supporting her.
Politico ^ | 11/7/08 | Jonathon Martin

Posted on 11/09/2008 1:07:31 AM PST by Paul R.

... The Republicans who worked most closely with Palin — the ones who were with her from when she first walked into that swooning Ohio basketball arena in August until she walked off the stage after McCain’s concession speech in Phoenix Tuesday — are now having their say in that conversation.

And they want it known that they’re sick of Sarah Palin being dragged through the mud.

You are right there... I was also very disappointed in FOX when he decided to air anonymous rumors. I thought that was left to CNN and MSNBC. Lost a lot of respect after that report.

I don’t see anything the Schmidts and Wallacw aay here as countering the anonymous comments. Indeed they’re almost damning with faint praise and leaving the anonymous words to stand—as in she may have been a stupid and ignorant diva, but she sure worked hard. Also I don’t see anyone denying they did the dirty gossiping. Looks like the reporter was almost working with them, not asking hem that. I say the suspected aides are all still suspect.

McCain wasted no time bashing anyone who dared say anything that could even be construed as derogatory about Obama yet he has said nothing nada nil in defense ofPalin. The crickets and I are waiting Mr. McCain for you to realize that Palin was the one that kept it from being a total landslide against you!!!

I’m sick of RINO’s — this is what our “big tent” philosophy has gotten us.

More accurately, the misuse of the big tent philosophy. When Reagan said it, he meant that the party is open to any and all who agree with and advocate a number of common beliefs and causes. The RINOs decided the big tent philosophy meant that the Republican Party should become like the Democrat Party, where a bunch of groups get together and vote for the same guy even though those groups have opposing aims. (I still think it's hilarious how blacks are socially conservative and largely religious, yet vote for the party that advocates gay marriage.)

Are you suggesting that ALL FIVE of the aides quoted in the story are suspect of sandbagging her? That seems to me like quite a stretch - esp. with Steve Biegun specifically countering the Africa & Nafta stuff.

I certainly don’t get “stupid and ignorant diva” from any of the quoted remarks. What I hear is the opposite.

No, I wasn’t. What I said is I didn’t the aides I named denying the validity of gossip claims—or that they were the whisperers. And, apparently they weren’t asked.

RedState.com still alleges that Schmidt & Wallace are two of the perps.
MSM will hang in as long as viable, then they'll probably put a quick crawler on TV and a brief pg. 21 newspaper item explaining how it was all 'maybe a rush-to-judgement and not entirely accurate'.
Blonde on FOX Saturday, (not Molly or Megyn), thought it unappropriate for Gov. Palin to have used the terms "cowards" & "jerks" in reference to those smearing her. (I thought the blonde was acting like a real jerk for saying that)

I think John McCain likes having Palin being a scapegoat. Takes the onus off of him. Notice all the talk has been about Palin’s failures, not his. So he keeps his mouth shut. This fits right in with his basic philosophy of trashing his own kind while not trashing the opposition. Now it’s Sarah’s turn to be trashed. He’s already zinged most of his fellow Pubs except for the RINO’s like Lindsey Graham, so now it’s Palin. Also, John McCain has always secretly harbored a semi-hatred for the religious right, of which Sarah is one. He blames then for attacking him the last time he ran, and therefore he trashed Pat Robertson and Jerry Fawell. He considers Bush one of them (although he really isn’t) and he trashed Bush. He is now most likely blaming (behind her back) Palin for his loss; once again it’s those lousy religious fundamentalists that have done him in. McCain’s got mental issues and frankly I’m glad he’s not President. The only problem is that we’ve now got a President who has a different set of mental issues, equally bad. It was like a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. We lose either way.

“I personally think that the bad mouthing of Sarah Palin is being done by undercover demo-rats.”

Perhaps, but whoever is doing it should be outed. These slime-ball cowards need to be exposed to the light of day. I personally want to know who they are so that I can be sure to never support any future endeavor that they may be associated with. As conservatives we must make sure that these people pay for their scurrilous acts.

Politico names five aides. While speaking on the record, none denies being the source of Cameron’s report. Nor does any of them specifically deny that she didn’t know Africa is a continent, the parties to NAFTA, etc. Their statements go only to her energy, her decency, etc. Politico should learn how to ask the right questions.

Cameron should be fired. He reported gossip that can harm someone’s reputation. If he was reporting news, he names the source, brings them on camera, even running up a driveway, or on microphone, and gets Sarah’s reaction before going with the story. Fox News in general tarnished their reputation with this tripe, running it three, four times. Hemmer said you can trust Cameron. No you can’t. Hemmer would flunk in journalism school if he gave that as answer.

As for the likes of Newsweek and National Enquirer, you can’t believe a word they say. When National Enquirer did have an actual story, for once, on Edwards, they produced evidence.

For quite a while, I haven’t thought that there’s been a dime’s worth of difference between Fox and the other networks.

I think this was a deliberate attempt to disgrace Sarah Palin after McCain lost.

You know, I’m starting to wonder if this wasn’t the plan all along. McCain and his RAT buddies cooked it up a long time ago. ACORN would get McCain the nomination, and McCain would throw the election and destroy a future up-and-coming Republican woman. Then it’s back to his old buddies in the Senate, where he can continue to eye-thumb Republicans, and get his little butt kissed by the media while doing it. I think McCains inner hatred of the Republican party started in 2000 when Bush beat him for the nomination. And now he has handed his country over to socialists. Never forget: Benedict Arnold was a war hero too, who didn’t get what he thought the country owed him for his service.

So, is Palin the one who would be able to create a third party? A conservative party? Where would the Republicans be if the conservative base left the party? It may take a couple of election cycles, but...

He could have won with Wright and should have won. It was a pathetic and incompetent campaign, and now they are trying to blame it all on Palin.

There is at least ONE person (CAMERON) who knows for certain and if he won't come clean, Palin should NEVER give him the time of day again.
