McCain's legacy is one of service and honor [RINO] [barf]

Now the daggers come out. The paleocons and Obamacons and many others will plunge them into the back of John McCain. This is shameful.

The American people have issued a referendum on the 2008 mutation of the Republican Party, whose ticket John McCain had the misfortune to lead.

Let's recount briefly: enough bribe taking, page preying, foot tapping felons and filchers to fill the local jail; a record deficit; a financial crisis; a badly managed war; an incompetent response to a hurricane; an incumbent in the White House with record-low levels of approval.

Against all this and into a headwind of media bias, McCain still managed to win 47 percent of the vote.

. . . . .

John McCain.....He emerged from the pack of Republican contenders last winter almost by happenstance. He wasn't the first, second or even third choice of many Republicans. In August 2007, his campaign was broke. Seven months later, he wrapped up the GOP nomination.

“Now the daggers come out. The paleocons...”

I’ve never understood who the term “paleocon” is supposed to refer to? Pat Buchanon?

By the way, the Katrina “scandal” is B.S. The federal government is not, and never has been, responsible as first-responder in a natural disaster. NYC cops and firefighters took care of things on 9/11, and New Orleans/Louisiana officials should have had their acts together in ‘04.

It is just what that backstabbing creep deserves for the treatment that he has given the Republican base for the last ten years. Many of us STILL voted for him, but I will be DAMNED if I will pretend that he actually DESERVED my vote!

McCain still managed to win 47 percent of the vote.

He only won 47% of the vote because 47% of the voters were able to see just how much of a disaster Zero will be. It had NOTHING at all to do with McCain. I'd be willing to be that a brick of cheese could have gotten 47% of the vote if the alternative was obama, and that a decent candidate would have beaten him quite handily.

Forcing people to vote the lesser of two evils is not winning.

his literary hero its protagonist Robert Jordan, who sacrifices his life in the futile cause to which he is dedicated.

Maybe instead of drawing from Hemingway, he should have followed the pholosphy of George S. Patton.

True, the brick of cheese would have had a 57 state sweep.

I can never forgive McCain for trying to get amnesty to 10-27 million illegal immigrants. Sorry.

The McCain campaign was dead, a victim of friendly fire.

More like the McCain campaign was dead, a victim of suicide. John McCain could have shown some leadership and exhibit some conservation values by standing with the Republican house members who made the case against the bailout and for domestic energy production. Instead, McCain did what he seems to do most of the time when it matters; he agreed with the other party's solution. That is not friendly fire; it is suicide.

I wish one of these punit genii would explain how a guy can run for President for ten years. Then when he gets the nod from his own Party run as though he really wants no part of the Presidency.

I’m from AZ and I never really liked John McCain.

I did, however, respect him. Whether you liked him or not he always told you what he was going to do and where he was coming from.

He doesn’t deserve retribution for anything. Anybody that was paying attention should have known who and what he was. That was no secret. Republicans got exactly what John McCain always said he was. And that wasn’t what we wanted or needed.
