A fairly impressive internet industry has sprung up claiming that Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia. This is nonsense which distracts from the broadly unexplored story of Obama’s upbringing. This kind of nonsense has emerged because the McCain campaign chose not to raise the many questions about Barack Obama’s numerous hard-left alliances. Barack Obama was born in Hawai`i, August 4, 1961 at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu.
Obama’s birth certificate posted online is exactly the same birth certificate everybody in Hawai`i gets from the State Department of Health. It is not forged. There is nothing unusual about the design or the texture. In addition to the birth certificate, the August 13, 1961 Honolulu Advertiser also carries an announcement of Obama’s birth. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin also carries the same announcement. Both papers require submission of a copy of the birth certificate to print a birth announcement.
By refusing media requests for a look at the actual paper birth certificate, Obama’s campaign gave sly backhanded assistance to the forgery hype.

Is there any law about this other than the original text of the Constitution? Most laws are written to correct some perceived error or injustice, so if no one has ever tried to be elected president with questionable citizenship, I could see that no one had ever spent time writing a law about it. The closest I can think of in recent history are Goldwater (who was born in Arizona Territory before it became a state) and McCain (born in the Canal Zone to two American parents). Both were covered by laws clearly stating the children are born citizens. No other job that President or VP requires a natural born citizen.

Not according to the law in effect at the time he was born.
And there is also the issue of him taking Indonesian citizenship at the age of 5. Indonesia doesn’t have dual citizenship with the USA.
Legally this is a serious mess, and I fear for this country whatever the outcome.

So you believe that there's a *perfectly* innocent explanation for Osama's refusal to open his records to the press? You or anyone else on this planet could,if you wished,go to the Massachusetts Vital Records Office in Boston...present my name and DOB....and see the very certificate first filed with the state a few days after my birth...about 19 years ago ;-)....and get a copy of it.And yet *nobody* can see Obama's either out of curiosity or out of a desire to establish that he does,in fact,meet the Constitutional requirements to serve as President of the United States.

Why? —Because OBAMA DOESN’T WANT THIS CONTROVERSY TO GO AWAY. Obama benefits from having as many conservatives as possible fixated on this phony issue which isolates them from voters and does nothing to educate voters, change minds, or recruit conservative candidates for 2010 and 2012.
Obama has complete control over you because he can choose to release the so-called “vault copy” anytime he wants. He is playing you and you need to wake up to that fact instead of operating on the false assumption that if everything was OK Obama would immediately step forward to correct the birth certificate misunderstanding by producing the ‘vault copy’.
Obama’s odd way of releasing the birth certificate info is a rather sophisticated Gramscian trick. They are shaping and molding you into the opposition they want.

It amazes me how many people were taken in by the forgery meme. None of them have the slightest clue how these reproductions are produced by the govt. Sheesh people, you are not Buckhead!
To the best of my knowledge that doesn't matter.Once you're established as a US citizen it's *very* hard to have that status revoked involuntarily.I could explain why but it's a long explanation and my two fingers are tired! ;-)

That could very well matter.I think I've read that there have been periods where,under the laws in effect at those times,if you were born during them...under certain circumstances...you did not gain US citizenship at birth.I thin k I read that 1961 falls into one of those periods.So,it's *very* possible that Osama's refusal to open his records is because he has something,Constitutionally speaking,to hide.Something big.
The certificate is not an original, but produced by Hawaii more recently. The original would have been typed on BC stock paper. The new ones are not, they are produced on a modern computer.
