It will be like what Will Smith said in a movie: “You know, I told you so, just doesn’t quite cut it.”

I hope Obama is ready to back up forced government labor plans with something more than just words.

Here in the red states (especially Alabama) we might not take a likin’ to that stuff.

Might even take time out from slaving over our religion and guns to do something about it.

>>> If you go any of the domain registration websites and enter a domain name which is not taken you can get it in a matter of minutes. Choice of .com/.net/.org./.edu/.gov etc are options

What registrar offers gov?

I don’t know, but this might not be legit.

You can scam almost anything.

No, it is a real domain registered at the Gov Server:

http://www.dotgov.gov

The IP is real too, Blue State Digital.

How did Obama get this site registered?

the 100 hours for college students translates to $40 an hour (tuition tax credit = $4,000)

Exactly. 50-100 hours could be done by a kid working 3 days a week at the YMCA over the summer. Back in the day, most kids did something like that instead of spending the whole summer indoors on the Playstation or at the mall.

Ooops.

This domain, Change.gov, seems to be a No No:

Naming Conventions: Naming-convention rules are described in detail in the Federal Policy (41 CFR 102-173). Thousands of names, programs, and general terms are used in Gov Internet domains. The following is a summary of naming-convention rules:

No General Domain Names: General terms alone such as “licenses,” “recreation,” and “benefits” are not allowed because they do not represent a specific enough origin and service. However, a domain name such as “MarylandRecreation.gov” is allowed (assuming that domain is authorized by either Maryland’s Chief Information Officer or the Governor of Maryland).

Did Obama follow guidelines for this ‘Change’?

Federally Sponsored Domain Guidelines
The following applies only to federal Gov Internet domains:

CIO Authorization: All Federal Agency domain requests must come from the Chief Information Officer of the Federal Agency. See www.cio.gov for a complete list of federal-agency CIOs. (Note: This link will open a new browser window and leave this site.)

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

GOD HELP US. It's 1984.

At least you're still a red state. How ashamed do you think I am of my state (Ohio) right now? It it wasn't for my ties to loved ones here, I'd move.

Somewhere in this mess I’m sure I noted Zero wants to obliterate age discrimination. I think I’ll apply for a job, too!
