Senior U.S. military officials will likely advise Barack Obama to adjust his campaign pledge to withdraw all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by mid-2010. While promising a 16-month timetable for getting all U.S. fighting forces out, Obama repeatedly insisted on what he calls a "responsible" withdrawal. Pulling nearly all U.S. troops and equipment out of Iraq in 16 months is "physically impossible," says a top officer involved in briefing the President-elect on U.S. operations in Iraq. That schedule would create a bottleneck of equipment and troops in the south of Iraq and Kuwait where brigades repair, clean and load vehicles and weapons for the trip home, said the official. Others say U.S. could conceivably pull out on that time scale, although that would require leaving more equipment behind. A more important concern that, officers believe the security gains in Iraq would be put at risk if troops were withdrawn before the Iraqi security forces are in a position to protect their own communities and borders.

I agree. Don’t you think after his first intelligence meeting and after he found out just how much we are hated and the daily threats we have he just sat back and said “Holy crap!” He has troops that logistically can’t all get out in 6 months, he has no money to spend on his pet projects, and he has physical threats pounding us daily. GUess he is learning not to judge before you’ve walked in somebody else’s shoes. His followers won’t understand why he can’t do it all by Feb. 1. He way over promised. I think there is some comfort in that for our side though.
LOL.....i wonder if he has figured out that being a community organizer isn’t the best preperation for being the head honcho. Turns out there is a little more to the job description than he thought.

Just turned Neal Boortz off and turned on Mike Gallagher. Boortz was talking about the office of the President HAVING to be respected and he will be proud to go to the WH to have his picture taken with the BIG ZERO - (my words, not his). He was talking to a female (former military) and she agreed with him. I don’t think walking into the Oval Office earns him respect - they either have it or they don’t and in this case, for me HE doesn’t. I don’t care if he sets up shop in the park across the street from the WH or in the slums of DC.

i think he already started relaxing his idea on bringing the troops home before he was elected.
I like what is being said, and I am glad it is already coming out that we can’t just pull out. I do wish they wouldn’t say it’s physically impossible, though, because we really can move that much in 16 months with no problem. But we sure as hell shouldn’t.
All troops should be off Iraqi soil by January 21.
Troops home by January 28.
I WILL hold him to that promise and I fully expect him to comply.
I have a tally on my blackboard at work. It now reads:
74 days until troops are out of Iraq!
More likely he's realized he's in waaaayyy over his head. Our Affirmative Action President is gonna be a disaster.
Those aren't simplistic responses, they are the weapons of choice that the liberals used on us for 8 years and the ones they understand. When speaking with liberals, I am going to use the word 'failure' in every sentence that has the name Obama in it. "Obama's a failure," "Failed Obama policies," etc... And even throw in the word 'fraud' from time to time.
