The View's conservative cutie Elisabeth Hasselbeck stunned viewers today by throwing her support behind president-elect Barack Obama. Executive Producer Barbara Walters asked Hasselbeck, who campaigned with John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, how she felt after seeing McCain/Palin go down to defeat on election night. Hasselbeck said her daughter Grace, 3, had asked her who won and who lost the election. "No one lost," Hasselbeck said she told her child. "Seriously, today is a victory for this country." Hasselbeck said the massive voter turnout and the excitement of the presidential contest inspired her. "I will get in a long line of supporters
for this president," she said.

I will give 0bama the same level of support and respect the Democrats gave President Bush.
Come on guys, what else was she suppose to do?
So is McCain. He pledged his support too. I think its a good tradition.
Do you think we will have books and calendars out for Christmas and the holidays shopping season with the subject “Stupid things Obama has said” like we did for President Bush?
Idiocy. She is no conservative.
She campaigned for McCain. McCain lost. She is supporting ourPresident-Elect. I would have said it differently. I thought about this yesterday, just as I did in 2004 before the election. Whoever won, is my President too. I thought of how I would react if someone (Al Qaeda etc) were to threaten him or denigrate him, I would be furious. He will be the face of the USA come Jan 20th, and I will support him as such. Not his policies per se, but what office he holds and what the office represents. I can separate him as a man from what office he holds, but let no one harm our President or our Nation. I was very sad and disturbed when he won, but he did. Not sure if I explained myself well, but in short, The Loyal Opposition. Not to the policies necessarily. Loyal to the Flag, the Nation, the Constitution, to the Office of the President, to the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch.
I’ll support the office and hope/pray that there are at least a few people in his administration with the guts to tell him when he or Pelosi are going to far against the interests of America. Now, if in a few years, he appoints himself to the position of High Chancellor, then we’ll have a problem.
Hitler was also a community organizer.
I think Hasselbeck is very “weak” in her conservative views and really is just on the show to give the excuse for a conservative viewpoint.
I have never watched the show except for some clips where there is a lot of shouting and berating Hasselbeck. She doesn’t seem to have the depth to discuss conserative principles.
Agree 100%. I will have policy differences with President-elect Obama, perhaps many, and perhaps from day 1. But he will be my President. I am a member of the loyal and loud opposition.
Let’s not conduct a hateathon of our own just yet. Let’s see how the man governs. If he acts like a marxist, I’ll be first in line to fight his actions. But he is the president-elect and I don’t want to act like the dems did toward Bush. I’m reserving judgment until I see what he does.
Even with the MSM completely in the tank for Obama, McCain still won nearly half the country. Obama knows this and if he wants to be reelected, he won’t be able to push a leftist agenda until his second term. It’s up to us to get good republicans elected in the meantime.
Got Milk?
That’s not a bad position for her to take. It’ll provide her some cover when she criticizes Zero when he starts screwing things up and the harridans attack her for criticizing him.
Exactly. Conservatives are going to be the only voice of reason for a while in this new age of “cool” over substance. We need to remain that voice.
How many times does one have to hear Rush say that he is an entertainer?
The View, Hannity, Daily Show, Colbert Report, etc. are entertainment.
Some of that entertainment is dark... in the fact, that they all serve the same purpose --> breaking the citizens down or instigating anger or emotion.
I thought we were supposed to be better than the dems. Let’s show a little more class and respect than they do.
That was not weakness, that was a plain and clear demonstration of what a winner does even when they lose.
She represented our side very well against her fellow “Spew” hosts who attacked her, at times personally, almost daily.
That alone earns benefit of the doubt about her motivations.
