Palin vs. McCain: Palin Insider Names Names
Regular Folks United ^ | November 6, 2008 | Kerri Houston Toloczko

News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

Why’s that?

I really did, and I'm really glad I did.

I saw Carl Cameron state these negative things about Palin last night on O’Reilly. At that time, there were a ton of things attributed to McCain insiders he knew his whole time covering McCain's campaign this past year.

I don't care if these people are the actual vipers or not. McCain hasn't denounced the comments or staffers and temporarily fired one staffer, Randy, for helping Palin.

McCain isn't helping Palin protect herself against these nameless attacks and he doesn't deserve my money.

It has nothing to do with Obamabots, and everything to do from a relatively trusted Fox News reporter on the top rated Fox News show.

Get real.

I know that. I should have written Nicolle vs. Randy on it! The photo is great because it shows the two of them together -- and they don't look too happy, do they?

In any event, I don't really let Randy off the hook either. He didn't stop Palin from doing that ridiculous Couric interview that could be edited and used against her. As far as I am concerned, Randy is as incompetent as Nicolle -- yet maybe not as much a backstabber. Too soon to tell.

Calling John McCain a POS is disgusting.

He’s a guy who won the GOP nomination fair and square and got his butt kicked in the general.

This frantic, vitriolic, frenzy is embarrassing.

You demanded a refund based on Carl Cameron's unsourced rumor?

Wow, you're easy!

The next time anyone tells you how great Carl “The Weasel” Cameron is, remember his part in all of this, which was as a plotter and conduit designed to ruin our candidates. He partnered with little Johnny Martin of politico to sabotage FRed Thompson’s campaign in a like manner.

Sorry... you are most correct... Rush did not believe Palin did any of these things. Confusion indeed.

What that really means is that Obama was such a horribly weak candidate that he needed 8 times the money for less than 5% points even with all the MSN running cover for him!

He won the nomination due to the fact he was (probably still is) courting Independents and Dims. They didn't vote for him in the General.

If you didn't notice, he didn't mention the word *Conservative* once during his concession speech. Not once. Just more crap about reaching across the aisle to work with the Marxist.

He deserves much worse than being called a POS, IMO.

When McCain and these staffers publicly refute this BS then I will agree with you. They have not and I believe that they will not... and until then I believe these vicious rumors as having come directly from those that have been named. Isn't it funny that these “media” types cannot get a reporter to cover them refuting them as the source. No, too much points the finger of guilt right at them.

Do you see the irony that the McPain campaign also finished off the second Dole?

Yes, the GOP nominating process is woefully flawed and must be fixed.

But that’s not John McCain’s fault.

McCain is who he is. We nominated him.

That’s our fault.

here’s an e-mail I sent to the McCain camp. Feel free to copy/borrow. Send to snelson@mccain08hq.com:

Hi Susan,

Numerous stories are circulating that top members of John McCain’s election campaign are blaming their candidate’s loss on Sarah Palin. If true, I find such accusations to be stunning. If they are not true, then I am equally stunned by Sen. McCain’s deafening silence to the allegations. Why the hell is he not out responding to these claims?

Rest assured that Sen. McCain’s “honorable” reputation is forever tarnished should he allow these unprincipled stories to go unanswered. I for one have little use for a candidate that is willing to stand by and see a running mate - arguably the ONLY reason he even was close in this race - devoured by malicious and petty statements.

Please, I urge you with utmost gravity to convey to Sen. McCain’s the anger I feel at his profound silence on this matter. Shame on him for not immediately firing those who circulate these claims, and if the remarks originate outside his campaign staff, shame on him for not “outing” the culprits. iI should not be difficult for Sen. McCain to gather this information - it certainly appeared easy enough for our national media.

To quote the senator, we should “know their names.”

Not necessarily, remember how Lee apologized profusely to all the Demcorats he beat in 1988, especially to then Governor Dukakis. Lee also had a weak side that craved compliments from a Democrat.

They were involved in Dole’s campaign, and we all recall how successful that was.

I venture to say that Sarah Palin's name will be around a lot longer than that of Dole's running mate (who was that again??)!!

One of our problems too is that Rush defended GWB long after GWB was beyond any help to conservatives.

I think El Rushbo may have had this pretty well analyzed today: McCain got a big boost from Democrat crossover voters in the Republican primaries.
