Rendell, Specter say Palin hurt McCain's chances
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | 11/6/2008 | The Associated Press

GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took some heat Wednesday from two of Pennsylvania's top political leaders.

Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell told business leaders at a postelection breakfast that John McCain would have had a better chance of winning Pennsylvania with a different running mate, and U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter, a GOP moderate, rejected the idea that the Republican party might belong to Palin.

"Anyone know how to send her a message of support?"

I would guess send it to Governor Palin.

Also everyone should let Arlen know just what we all think of him and his kind.

Specter is part of the problem and yet another curse given to the country by the state. Seriously, if Murtha can easily get re-elected, then Pennsylvania is a lost cause and deserves the pain they helped bring to the country.

That's it, I'm done, I will spend the rest of my days focused on the goal of the complete destruction of the Republican party, and the RINO's in it.

My tagline for most of the year leading up to the election was:

"John McCain, the Manchurian Candidate"

Drawn from a work of fiction, it has proved to be EXACTLY accurate in reality.

John McCain, socialist Democrats, the MSM, and RINO Republicans have succeeded in electing a Marxist traitor to the American Presidency.

Now, as with the work of fiction, is the attempted assassination of the only patriot on the podium, Sarah Palin.

In the fiction, the assassination fails and the traitors are punished. I will work for the same conclusion in reality.

Spector has outperformed recent Republican presidential candidates. He survives by getting just enough Dems & Independents to vote for him. He’s like the “Un-Dead”.

Arlen Specter - a Rinos’ Rino and Ed Rendell - a rat’s rat both attack Palin. If this doesn’t constitute a ringing endorsement of Sarah Palin nothing will.

" How about Jindal? How about Sanford? How about Cantor?

I believe that any of those three would have fired up the base. They may or may not have inspired as many conservatives as Palin, but they probably would have had a greater appeal to independents and some democrats. Cantor probably would have locked down Virginia and Florida and maybe a few others. "

We don't want to inspire democRATS, we want to inspire conservatives.

A lot of people here love Rick Santorum. Santorum campaigned for Spector and let Toomey out in the cold. ...Then Santorum went down.

The Republican Party is enamored of the Northeastern Rockefeller wing of the party. The Democratic Party was moved far to the left by Soros and others who used their contributions strategically to force the party to do its bidding. Republicans/conservatives need to do the same thing. Rather than contribute to the party itself, we need to maintain and fund PACs or 527s or whatever we can to help push the party back to its conservative roots. Most conservatives felt they had no choice but to support McCain after the primary season but the real groundwork should have been accomplished before the primaries. We need to identify, fund and push for real conservatives who can counter the Rockefeller RINOs. I don’t know if we have any billionaire sugar daddies like the Dems have, but millions of us funneling our contributions to one organization can have a very strong voice in Republican politics if we truly want it. (Then we need to make some painful decisions about some of the issues that divide us, like illegal immigration and abortion to name just two. While we fight amongst ourselves on these issues, we are handing victory to the worst candidate.) Finally, we need our own ACORNs, our own Alinsky tactics, our own media to step up to the plate, not just in election years but throughout these coming years.

Specter.

You know, they say “there’s no fool like and old fool.”

The only addendum to that is “except for a party stuffed full of them.”

Keep it up you foul festering fossil, you’re on your way to extinction and I for one can’t wait. When we finally bury the last of the treason caucus, maybe we’ll finally be able to get some real conservatives into office.

It was obvious that the party was heavily split and foundering with only McCain as its champion. A large number of conservatives were considering staying home. The ONLY thing that mustered the conservative base and put energy into the campaign was Gov. Palin. It is clear the RINOs don’t really like their association with rural small government conservatives and find us and our individualistic lifestyles distateful and unacceptable. Perhaps it is time to strike the big tent and see if we can find leadership that can forge new alliances.

The saddest most over looked story from the election was that Lou Barletta, Hazleton Mayor lost his electino for House Rep in the 11th district.. He put up a good fight but still lost..

What would Murtha have to do to lose - go house to house and pee in everyone’s Wheaties?

During the Carter years there was a PA Congressman named Dan Flood (D) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area (Northeast PA). He got in an ethics jam or some such scrape. Somehow he was given a mental-competency test & flunked. He didn't even know what year it was. I believe he got re-elected but got bounced for whatever they had on him at the time.
