Radio host Rush Limbaugh, the loudest conservative voice in American politics , today blasted John McCain's presidential campaign as weak and said Barack Obama's election as president is an opportunity to purge the Republican Party of candidates who abandon conservative principles.
"McCain's whole campaign was a concession speech," said Limbaugh in his post-election analysis. "We've now demonstrated to everyone how to lose."
Limbaugh dismissed any notion that victories by Democrats in the White House and Congress meant a repudiation of right-leaning principles.
Limbaugh explained conservatism was not on the ballot.
"We haven't been on the ballot since 1994," he said, noting that if Republicans wanted to win elections, they should not put so-called "moderates" on the ballot.
"The conservative movement does not need to be rebuilt," he said. "We had some people abandon the conservative movement, and they need to be abandoned."
The broadcaster called last night's results "an opportunity for cleansing ... like we haven't seen in a long time."

Big government, big tent, tax and spend liberal squirrel eater...who happens to be against abortion...and isn’t hostile to Christianity.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Conservatism was on my ballot, in Illinois. I voted for Chuck Baldwin, since I knew that McCain couldn’t win my state.
You missed my point entirely. But then again, I’m not surprised.
“The majority of the Sheep have said differently - with votes. The Sheep WANT Socialism, and they have handed the country over. “
You are forgetting the TRUE conservatives who refused to vote party over principle. Had there been a true conservative on the ticket, the people would have came out in droves to vote that person into office.
Oh no, I got it and I don’t accept the premise of that argument....
McCain was the most popular RINO...as if the was a conservative to pick instead. You’re dodging the point there were no conservatives.
Of course there were conservatives. With the exception of Huckabee, they were all out of the race after South Carolina. Why? Because McCain was winning. But, if you want to believe that no conservatives ran in 2008, go right ahead.
No, this isn’t Obama, this is one of the people who left the GOP a few years back when the stupidity became too much to bear. When it comes down to a choice between credit card companies and human beings, and a party chooses the credit card companies, then something, somewhere is real bad out of whack.
The Bushes kinda realized this when they were running what with a “kinder, gentler” party and “Compassionate Conservatism.” Too bad the party rank and file didn’t get it. Anyway, ya’ll go on back to “basics” and another few elections down the road there won’t even be 40 GOP Senators. I hear that people have to hit rock bottom before they can do that First Step. In the meantime, I’ll be over working to turn the criminal party to the right. They’re like the Bad Steward Parable in the Bible and they at least have enough sense to look after themselves.
parsy, the intelligent conservative.

You are a dope........And you prove it post after post....
